The Best Western plus Amsterdam airport is old and looks run down. The passageways are dimly lit. Only the dining area has a good ambiance and breakfast was good. The heat was not working in the room.

The rooms was big, clean and great. Shuttle to and from airport was a big plus. The front desk staff help was limited. Getting to the airport for early flight when the shuttle was not starting till later the front desk staff gave the option of taxi which would cost $30 never did they tell me that within 5 mins of walking I could pick up public transportation for fraction of the cost. The hotel across staff helped us and told us how to get to the airport for earlier flight. A bit disappointing!

It was fun being within the castle wall Some cobwebs on the ceilings and the bathroom mirror set too high to see self although there was a full length mirror in the bedroom Breakfast was good and staff was friendly

This hotel was a very good value. The front desk manager gave me an extra flat sheet at my request, which was very kind. European hotels often provide only comforters, which are too warm for me, so having a cotton sheet is wonderful. Our room had a walk-in shower with excellent controls for the temperature and water force. There weren't many restaurants nearby, but we ate at the restaurant in the Bastion hotel which is attached to the Best Western and had a very good meal with good service.

We had a quick layover but the shuttle was at the airport waiting and had an easy check-in. We had to arrange for a taxi back to the airport as we had to be there before the shuttle started in the morning again, the hotel arranged that the night before which was appreciated.

Check in was quick and efficient but be aware you cannot check in early! The room was wonderful and the beds comfy. We had a great dinner at the hotel and the staff were great. We took the hotel shuttle to the airport and took the train into Amsterdam. We returned to the airport by train and took the hotel shuttle back to the hotel. The shuttle was right on schedule! Only down side of this hotel is the only dining options were at the hotel, which was pricey, or McDonalds which you could walk to. There is coffee and tea in the room. I would definitely stay here again!
