Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities
We had a room booked for over a month. I emailed for an early check-in. I asked for a baby crib. I got form emails back. Ok, we can wait til normal check in time. 3 adults, 2 infants (3 months).
Arrive in Amsterdam, stop at the hotel, talk to the young receptionist. She has me pay the taxes, and they tell me “It’s not ready yet.”
I go see the city. Check back at 1pm. “They are cleaning the room.”
Check back at 2; “not ready”
3 pm (check-in time): They inform me there is a leak and it won’t be fixed. They hand me 3 prepackaged stroopwafels, the cheapest things ever that I can find in rural America, and tell me I have to stay at a different hotel;
This hotel is not in the same location I paid to book. It is much either from the city center. It is much further for my elderly family member to walk. IT ALSO COST HALF OF WHAT I PAID AVENUE HOTEL. They are making money off rebooking people.
I did find out from the second hotel that there was no leak: THEY OVERSOLD THE ROOM.
DO NOT STAY HERE. They are sleazy. I assume they’ll reply with some form response below. Whatever it says, this is the truth.
Horrible experience for my young and old family!
