Nice hotel for a perfect Amsterdam trip
Don’t expect 5 stars if you paid for 3. This hotel has everything you need for a few days of vacation in Amsterdam. A reasonably sized room, a good shower that splashes everywhere (who cares? You’re not drying up the water that splashes), croissants, pastries, juice, and good coffee all day long. And the best part? The service from Nabil and Sky, the guys at the front desk, who are No esperes 5 estrellas si pagaste por 3. Este hotel es todo lo que necesitas para estar unos dias vacaciones en Amsterdam. Un cuarto de tamaño razonable, una buena ducha que salpica afuera ( a quien le importa? Tú no secas el agua que salpica) croissants y pastelitos y jugo así como buen café todo el día y lo mejor : la atención de Nabil y Sky los chicos de la recepción quienes soun muy amables.

This location was convenient from the train station, was very close to the cathedral. And was walking distance from many attractions. The breakfast boasts a wide array of options, complemented by a vibrant nightlife scene in the bar area. My only complaint was BED BUGS! I stayed for two nights, and did not realize it till the last day. I was getting on the train and my arm was itching and I realize I had bites on my arm and on my neck. I wasn't quite sure what it was until my girlfriend pointed out. They were bedbug bites.

Great Stay in Amsterdam Before Cruise
After living in The Hague twice and being gone for over 22 years, it was great to return to The Netherlands as a "tourist". The Luxer was great. We had a large room with a comfortable queen bed. Location was great, very convenient to Amsterdam Station Centraal. We visited the Rijksmuseum, took a canal tour, ate at some great restaurants, and visited Den Haag for a day having a great dinner with an old friend. Hotel had free coffee and pastries, plus a bar for other libations. The staff was excellent and very helpful. Would certainly stay here again.

You do not get much in that hotel, other than location, but the location is off the charts and, to many people, it might be worth many inconveniences that you have to suffer (e.g., super tiny & basic rooms, user unfriendly bathrooms, etc.). I think the security should be better as far as checking if the people who come into the hotel are registered guests (although the area around is not unsafe at all). The hotel is very close to the red district, the surroundings are very safe, and there are dozens of choices to eat around the hotel. You are basically literally in the middle of action, which is a huge plus. If you like peace and quiet at night, though, I would suggest to ask for a room that does not face the street because there are hundreds of people there at night, and it can get quite noisy.

Walkable to/from the central station. Has elevator for the luggage. Although the room is small (expected in Amsterdam) it is very clean. We were lucky to get a good price when we booked the same day. The front desk are friendly. Very accessible to everything. We had a restful sleep. We will come back again and will recommend to families and friends.

The staff at the hotel was amazingly accommodating. This was the first visit to Amsterdam for some of my group. They raved about the service at the hotel and their recommendation for dinner was outstanding. Kudos to Hotel Luxer

The staff was especially kind and helpful. The room was very dark and no space to open a suitcase, and forget 2 suitcases! Location is perfect, a few minutes to train and metro. Mold in the shower, shower drain backs up, carpet heavily stained, AC stopped working after 1 day. None of these were show stoppers, just items needing attention. Seemed very secure with front door requiring staff to open to get into the building 24x7. If you are on your own for a quick trip, this is a wonderfully located spot.

This property is a very short walk to Central Station. Restaurants and bars are literally out the front door and very plentiful. The staff is friendly. There is a coffee bar with croissants, teas and a coffee/espresso machine. My gripe is with the shower. First the stall is very small. I had an issue either the water temperature adjustment making its way to full hot, which is too hot for me. I sorted this out with a towel on day 1 and reported it. Was told that it was fixed only to have the same issue the next day. Reported it again and was told by staff that they would have it fixed. Again sorted it with a towel the next morning and reported it again. Well my towel was still fixing the issue upon my return, so maybe they fired the maintenance guy who couldn’t sort out the issue. Otherwise, would have been 4 or even a five if there wasn’t someone else’s hair in the shower on day 1.
