This was easily one of the best lodging experiences in a long long time for this veteran, global, road warrior. The hotel is exactly as billed: the quintessential boutique hotel experience. We were only here one night but are already making an effort to return to Amsterdam if only to have The Craftsman be our primary destination and lodging. From the quirky, unique rooms to the phenomenal fresh breakfast (holy cow they turn the typical dutch breakfast offered at other upscale lodgings on its head), the overwhelming memory was of the very personalized service. Claudia in particular, but really the entire staff.

A warm welcome on arrival. Gorgeous and quirky rooms. Great location within walking distance of train station, Anne Frank House, canal boat tours, museums and shops. Lovely breakfast in the Gallery with fresh fruit and yogurt, meats, cheese and bread/croissants. All staff super friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Clockmaker Room in the first floor which had lovely views over the canal. Would definitely return.

Our stay at the Craftsman was so special. The room was wonderfully quirky, beautifully designed and felt luxurious. The breakfast was healthy and tasty. It’s the service though that really makes it stand out. The staff were so welcoming, friendly and seemed genuinely interested in sharing their love for the city. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful.

Lovely hotel! Highly recommend.
Beautiful hotel in a great location, easy to walk around the city. We stayed in one of the lofts, which had a lovely view of the canal. Breakfast was included and delicious. They have thought of all the little touches to make your stay special.

Hotel The Craftsman Lives Up to its Reputation
Our room the Airplane Maker was just cool. Old airplanes parts turned into useable room fixtures made it unique. There was even a propeler hanging from a wall . A booklet described where all the pieces came from. Heated floor in the bathroom was nice too. Bed was comfortable. View(we were on the top floor 4) was nice too overlooking the Singel Canal. The staff went out of their way to be helpful, from having our room availible a little early, to giving us a tour of the public facilities, to watching our luggage after we checked out, so we could go to one more musuem before leaving. It was a really great place and location to stay. We walked everywhere in the historic district.

Each of the hotel room has a unique design, our room with canal views,bed and pillows are comfortable also staffs are friendly. Free breakfast and got a set of Delft blue ceramic coasters for souvenir too.
