One thing that isn’t clear from the pictures is the lovely view from the (quite comfortable) bed. We enjoyed that very much in the morning and evenings!
The apartment has everything one needs to live well. We stayed for two weeks and had a great time. It’s such a short walk to the center of old town or the shoreline walkway/bike trail (across the street!).
Yes, the street right in front is busy and noisy, but it was fine with the windows closed. However, if you are sensitive to noise, this probably isn’t the place for you. Also, there is currently (June, 2019) a fairly major excavation/rock quarry going on directly behind and next to the apartment building. This adds to the noise. We chose to focus on the view and convenience and still had a great time.
The parking garage is not for the faint of heart—very tight quarters. We used it a few times, but mostly parked in the adjacent free parking lot.
The owners do not speak English, but were very friendly and used a translation app to communicate quite well (and with some pantomiming, lol). They always responded promptly to questions or requests. There is no air conditioning, so we requested a couple fans, which they brought over right away. These worked well enough to be comfortable.
If you’re able, be SURE to ride the bike trails, especially to the south. We didn’t get around to it until near the end of our visit and were very sorry not to have done it sooner and more often. What a treasure! There are two very nice bike rental shops on the way into old town.
Try to go here during an off season. There was a four day holiday weekend while we were there, and it was uncomfortably crowded, as I imagine high season would be. Off times, it was very, very nice. What a terrific area, and we miss it.
Thank you for a great place to stay for an “extended” visit!
