Adra Hostel is a hostel, so keep your expectations reasonable. However, that being said, it was a good experience.
I arrived a bit early, and even though my room wasn't ready, I could store my bags at the location without any issues. The whole establishment is very safe, storage-wise, and moving around-wise.
I was in a dorm room with ~18 other beds, yet each room felt like a private (albeit small) room within a larger space.
The highlight of the hostel is the restrooms. I had a glorious shower; the water is hot and consistently stays hot. Even in a room with multiple people having access to the same bathroom, you have enough privacy to settle in when you are in the restroom. Not to mention the bathroom was spotless. I can't sing enough praises for this part of the experience.
There is a courtyard on the first floor and a wrap-around balcony on the second floor with a DJ at night, an excellent place to relax in the establishment.
This was my first hostel experience, and overall I would say I had a positive experience. If you're easygoing and want to use your funds to enjoy Antigua versus overpaying for a place to rest your head, give Adra Hostel a look.
