It was a nice cabin but the blanket under the comforter had sticky jelly or something so the sheet weren’t changed before our stay which is gross.. also the bathroom door has no handle so it was hard to open and close. Cigarette burn in the comforter. Cell service was non existent but they had okay Wi-Fi
I love my favorite cabin- it's so pretty and quiet! And, the people at the Inn are always super kind and accommodating close to the entrance and so convenient!
This is the first bad review I’ve ever written. When we arrived the water pipes to the cabins had frozen. This is understandable, but unfortunately the water pump house was attached to our cabin and they were working on it until late into the night and we could hear them through the thin walls. We really had no water or toilet use until after 10:00pm. In the night we heard rodents in our room rummaging through our food. In the morning there was a large pool of warm water that had leaked in and was unsanitary and near the tv power cords. We let the people know that worked there and they agreed that our cabin should not be rented out as the floor was sinking in from I’m sure other water damage and it smelled of black mold. The owner however did nothing in the way of taking ownership or offering any compensation. I was told to keep calling back and gave them more than a week to do the right thing. My hope is that they make the improvements needed for future guests and do more for their guests.

The lodge is not up to code, extremely small and uncomfortable beds. Desperately needs a renovation. The trim, wood work- whatever you wanna call it is all slapped together . Reminds me of how my old landlord would fix things. Considering this is the closest place to the entrance of mt rainier, I'd expect it to relfect the beauty of it a LITTLE BIT. It remains teh cheapest option to stay at in ashford but other are not too much more.
The room I wanted was not available, called before I left my house which is 2Hrs away and was not told there was anything wrong. Room was suppose to be a “upgrade” bathroom floor was badly un even, one of the beds might be broken. Wanted to go and tell front desk but they were out by 5. Also didn’t need a 2 bed upgrade, it was just me and my wife. Friendly customer service.
This is winter, and it’s cold… AC is still in the window, leaving about an inch of cold air coming through, we covered it with a plastic bag… 1/3 of a roll of toilet paper was left, and we ran out… Beds were made but fairly certain bedding was not clean… crumbs and a dark spots on the bedding and pillow cases. Not sure how old the mattresses are, but very uncomfortable, you were either heading upstream or down stream depending on what angle you were facing… They advertised WiFi, um very very spotty WiFi, and we were told it in the office this building has great WiFi… 🙄 We were supposed to stay 1 more night, however neither my friend or myself would probably be able to walk if we slept here 1 more night… my back is already giving me issues with 1 night… I will not be back to the Gateway inn…

Overall ok but hot water was enough only for me and daughter. My son and husband had to wait but it took too long. When I wanted to make a cup of coffee in the morning, the coffee maker had mold inside, so I gave up. Whoever answers phone at front desk doesn’t speak English. And mattress was 👎

Have concern regarding cleanliness. I see some socks on couch. And some dust in washroom. Pillow covers were also untidy.
The new cabins are very comfortable and cozy. Easy to park at your doorstep with all our snow gear.

The cabin we stayed in was perfect for the two of us. It was nice and cozy and everything was clean. You could tell the cabins were pretty old based on the way it leaned but otherwise was a fantastic stay! Would stay here again for sure!
We had a lovely stay here!! We stayed for the weekend, the bed was incredibly comfy! They had direct TV setup for us and the heaters going when we got there so it was nice and cozy. They also offer coffee, a mini fridge, have a full bathroom and even a massage chair which we weren’t expecting. Checkin/checkout was a breeze! The mountain was just a few minutes way for a fun day of hiking as well. Highly recommend staying here if you want a nice relaxing stay☺️
