Home is Where the Arch is | Across from UGA!

Summary:
Location! Location! Location! 100 feet to the UGA Arch and walking distance to Sanford Stadium and Georgia Theater.

The Space:
Amazing views from the living room overlooking Broad Street and across the street from North Campus.

If you’re in town to catch the big game, you can’t get any closer to the action than at Home is Where the Arch Is, aptly named for its proximity to the UGA Arch officially welcoming guests onto the University of Georgia campus. This newly renovated condo in downtown Athens will get you immediately into that Bulldawg spirit inside and out, with restaurants, bars, shopping, and of course the stadium all within walking distance.

For guests that reserve a football game weekend, there will be an option to buy 2 game day tickets at face value. Additional information about the location of the seats will come in August when tickets are distributed by UGA.

In between activities, you will find this 2-bedroom home to be an idyllic place to relax and recharge. This bright and Bulldog themed home comfortably sleeps 6 guests between 2 private bedrooms and a large sofa in the living room and an additional queen size air mattress. Both bedrooms include brand new queen size beds with fresh linens and soft blankets. The home also includes a full, updated bathroom with a dual vanity and shower/tub combo.

Plush sofa seating in this bright living room can accommodate the entire group, includes fast wireless internet and 65 inch smart tv in living room for enjoying pregame festivities. A modern dining table with bench-style seating can seat 6, with additional barstool seating at the kitchen counter for 3. With so many local restaurants to explore, you may find yourself dining our or takeout most days and nights, however, the kitchen is well equipped with all standard appliances, cookware, and dinnerware needed for the option of eating in as well. Wake up to coffee provided with the coffee machine with a Target on the ground floor for anything else you may need.

Although Athens is the highly regarded hometown of the Dawgs, it’s much more than just an awesome college town. Visitors will love strolling through campus and cheering on the red-and-black at one of the town’s many football bars, but Athens is also one of the most predominant cultural hubs in the state of Georgia. The city boasts iconic historical establishments like the Morton Theater, Georgia Museum of Art and of course the famous Georgia Theater. USA Today named Athens as one of the most underrated food destinations in the country, and you’ll want to take an extensive food tour of the local spots to understand why. Follow that with a bar hop to popular breweries and you’ll know why Athens is loved by locals, visitors, and college students alike.

THINGS TO NOTE:
- Queen Air mattress is available in the unit with extra pillow and blankets.
- Washer and Dryer available in the building.
- Parking is not available on-site, but there are several public paid options nearby. Two city-owned garages are close by at College Avenue and Washington Street. Street parking is also available where permitted on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Please note: Game days and event days will be busy downtown. Please plan ahead with parking.
- There is currently construction taking place outside the condo building beyond our control. We have placed sound machines in both bedrooms to help mitigate the noise.

Construction
This is an easily accessible unit in the best location. You really can't beat the location. I only wish we knew about the massive construction of the new Drake building 5 -10 feet next to the unit. They start construction between 6:30-7 am, which was constant until about 3:30/4 pm, even on Saturday - constant sawing, drilling, hammering along with the crew yelling to each other. I couldn't open the bedroom curtain, because you can make eye contact with the workers - it's that close. Sunday was the only quiet day. If you're not planning to spend much of the day in the unit, it is a great place, just be prepared for an early wake-up from the construction noise. Listing also mentions a microwave in the unit - there is not one.
