Lovely old building which has been restored in a relaxed but stylish way. We received a very warm welcome from all staff especially Jasper the black lab. We were staying to go to a family party so sadly didn’t get a chance to have dinner-menus look great. Would highly recommend and very good value

The warmest of welcomes
We had a fantastic stay at Smiddy Haugh. We were made to feel very welcome by the hosts and other staff. They also are extremely dog friendly. The food was excellent as was the choice of drinks. Breakfast was delicious and lots of options. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed for one night in a room above the pub. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Sky TV was a bonus. The bathroom was roomy, clean and with a good shower. Breakfast was great and we had good food and great service at dinner.

A fantastic find!
We had a wonderful time, the first night of our journey up to Inverness, where we embarked on the NC500. Our welcome couldn’t have been more warm, our hosts were friendly, accommodating and nothing seemed too much trouble for them. Our miniature schnauzer Martha was made to feel particularly welcome and I’d certainly recommend a stay here if you’re travelling with a dog.

This is the second time we have stayed and it is such an excellent find. Forget the premier Inn and go for the Smiddy its absolutely brilliant.
