The staff were friendly and helpful the bed comfortable not hard not soft but car parks too small the building is not only old and dated there is a lot of small repairs that have been ignored there is suppose to be a buffet breakfast but instead they changed it that morning to a hybrid breakfast which was some of the buffet good but limited. It’s not what you would expect with a Copthorne hotel
When we checked in my partner noticed a used ear swab that was placed on the skirting near the floor which is disgusting. There were also almonds on the floor, we didn’t have these almonds so it was clear that the floor was not vacuumed before we checked in. The shower was also filthy and there was soap scum around the base of the shower, and the glass in the shower was all smeared and dirty. For the amount of money we spent for 4 nights I thought that the cleanliness would have been A LOT better. Due to staffing issues the bar and kitchen were also closed, a very disappointing stay to say the least.

If you stay before it is renovated!
Rooms are very tired and due to be renovated soon. If you stay pre-renovation, note the following points:
There is no sound proofing, we could hear all sorts of activities happening and people talking in the rooms next to us, down the corridor and out of the balconies all around. The balcony is kind of terrifying... small and lots of gaps in the railings. We could smell smoke from people smoking on balconies several rooms away, as the joinery on the doors doesn't seal fully. The bathroom was deteriorating significantly, with water leaking out of the shower, cracked tiles, rotten wood and unstable glass.
If the price is good, it's still a good place to stay due to the location, and the beds were comfy so we had a good sleep with earplugs in.
Maybe just keep in mind the pre-renovation state which is hopefully reflected in the pricing.

I liked the shower!! However I booked for 3 people and the room was only set up for 2. I had to go down to reception to request a bed for the 3rd person.
For a $300 a night hotel i expected a lot more. Its run down. Breakfast "buffet" was a few very cheap items like budget savories, beans eggs and frozen hard waffles. The worst thing was the accessible hotel room would only be able to be used by someone quite able bodied. Steep short ramp up into the bathroom. Bathroom was very small and had no handrails for the toilet. Very disappointed
The place was falling apart. The glass shower wall wasn’t secured and I almost fell into the shower on the glass. The tiles were falling off, there was a hole in the roof. It hasn’t been cleaned properly from the previous guests I found some of their belongings in the room. The room looked nothing like the photos and we couldn’t make a coffee because there were no plugs that could reach a surface for the jug to boil on. The only thing this place has going for it is the location. You cannot pre book parking either which was a pain. This place leaves a lot to be desired and is in desperate need of a fix up.
We only stayed for one night, but it was very clean and breakfast was better than I expected, also Waite staff was very attentive, I would recommend and stay there next time
Hot water ... Good.
Asked for morning wake up call. Never got one.
$400 deposit is an outrageously bad idea. The Savoy doesn't do that.
Needs a microwave in the room
The room looked as though it required a major upgrade. There were broken tiles in the bathroom, dried paint on the toilet seat, shower cubicle was leaking water.
The carpet did not look clean. The furniture in the room was outdated.
