Modern self check in which was different but easy and staff are there if needed to assist. Best blackout windows I have ever seen and loved that. Was just in town for 1 night to meet my brother for a Longhorn game. Rooftop pool and other things look inviting. Will try to stay again and enjoy more someday.

Attractive property and appurtenances. The lack of available on-premises valet parking is something that requires some imagination to overcome. I suppose if one flies in and stays downtown --Uber, etc.-- it works pretty well. If one drives in and has to figure out what to do w/ his/hers vehicle it becomes a bit of a problem.

Not very roomy.
Room is ok for a 1 night stay or multiple if you are traveling alone. The new modern micro hotel room was not for me. The shower leaked out to the sink area and there was hair and nail clippings all over the floor which shows that the cleaning staff didn’t do a good job at least in my room.

We attached a 2-night stay to a business trip stay to see the Congress St Bridge bats on Halloween. The staff was so helpful in accommodating us so we could stay in the same room. The room was smaller but comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

DEI disaster
Citizen M is the epitome of DEI and it is a disaster. Check in via computer kiosk that was made difficult by employees who were incompetent. Was checked out in error by staff then told nothing they could do and I would have to go through online registration and repay for the room. Then charged and additional 700 after that. Did get that resolved via management but was misled about refunding never received. Entire staff woefully undertrained. Then final breakfast has juice glass with lipstick on it from previous day was final straw.

My wife and I really enjoyed our long weekend at the CitizenM in Austin… The furniture and art was perfectly curated for the Austin aesthetic. The rooms are very comfortable, but incredibly small. I personally appreciate value over square footage since we’re seldom in the room. We highly recommend this room… Thanks CitizenM!

Absolutely will never go back here. You have to check in yourself, which would be fine, but they have a person there to look over your shoulder to “help”. Dumb, and annoying. They have ZERO parking with no valet, so I parked in a garage that’s next to it, which cost me over $30!!! This place is trying really hard to be “hip”, when they should just be a good hotel.
