huge house, little parking
Our family of 4 stayed in this huge house. We loved it. Beautiful home in a beautiful place--close to a grocery store, and some amenities. It's about 45 minutes to Bear Valley skiing. We enjoyed the stay. It was probably too much space for the 4 of us, plus our dog. For all the rooms and space, we would love to return and host a family vacation, but there is only space for one car, realistically at the side of the road. The property does have two driveways, which might be able to accommodate more, but they are so steep as to make it dangerous or impossible to park in. The one driveway that seems like it could be reasonable to drive down, given the slope, has a very steep angle so it scapes the bottom of the car, so unless you have a raised truck or SUV or it would rip the bottom up. The second driveway is so steep that unless the conditions were perfectly dry and you had high traction tires getting back up may be impossible.

Fun and cozy
The house is very large and all the beds were comfortable. The fireplace warms up the entire kitchen/family room area and is very cozy. The downstairs area was super fun with the pool table and the anti-gravity chair. Really fun place for the family to hangout and play games/listen to records.

Dog hair everywhere
Our pillow cases and general bed areas were covered in dog/human hair - disgusting. This was one of the most expensive listings in the area yet we didn't even have clean bedsheets. Other than that the house was fine, but would not return.

Peaceful & Relaxing
Great location. Close to towns & the mountain. Perfect for a day trip to play in the snow. We enjoyed long afternoons of movie watching, guitar, & game playing. The primary bath tub was a treat. So relaxing!

Nice place for a getaway in Arnold area
Overall nice layout and lots of space for families. Appreciated two tables for seating during meals. Older kids particularly enjoyed the pool table. Property managers very responsive especially given uncertainty with recent wildfires. The parking situation is not ideal as you cannot use the steep driveway, although there is limited room for off-street parking for 2 cars.

Nice but not very clean.
The house was nice except that it ours have been cleaner. There were cobwebs everywhere and dead bugs in the tub and shower. We did have great communication with the leasing company.

great house w AC
It is a huge clean house that would probably work the best for a big family/company. The location is very convenient, and there is a private feel from the house. I loved the industrial range and AC. The driveway is very steep, so we had to park on the street which was not a problem. I see how it may become a challenge during wintertime. The manager asked to bring our own pillows and drop off trash at the Avery disposal station. It was ok since it was just 3 of us. Overall, we had a great stay.

Not really what we were hoping for
We have stayed at several Vrbos before, but this was a different experience. The realty company that managed it had an extensive contract. Had we seen the contract before booking we would have chosen a different property. The contract was daunting-limited toilet paper and paper towels, bring your own towels and pillows, no shoes in the house, don’t use the driveway, and only 1 bag of trash for each 2 days of your stay AND you have to take it to the trash site yourself! This was VERY inconvenient. Upon arrival, the property was not what we expected. It is listed as 2 kitchen, but the downstairs is really a wet bar with a mini fridge. The down stairs had a mattress leaning up against the wall, the bathroom light fixture was hanging from the wall and the mounding showed poor workmanship. The kitchen has an appliance in the island that doesn’t have any decorative covering on it and it didn’t work. Not even sure what it was. The stove/oven was filthy. The front wasn't clean, the inside of the oven was dirty and the covered grills were filthy also. We wouldn’t have used it unless we cleaned it ourselves first. The living room ceiling fan didn’t turn at all, only lit up. The upstairs queen room ceiling fan didn’t turn either. Only the light worked. It was also missing half of the closet door. Overall the bugs were bad inside. There were lots of gnats and we found 2 live wasps in the upstairs rooms. The upstairs master had 2 glue traps on the ground behind the TV! All the windows had recently been replaced, but all of them have the stickers still on them. Very tacky. Who does that? Most of the house was covered in dust-light fixtures, baseboards, window sills… The house had plenty of space for all of us, but you get the feel that this house is not loved by anyone anymore and that we were not really welcomed. So many rules on the contract that we felt afraid to touch anything.

Large House in the Trees with a Pool Table
The house is located on a fairly steep wooded slope, so it felt like you were in a treehouse. Inside, the place was large and had a lot of amenities such as wifi, streaming services on the TV, excellent kitchen, large dining tables, plenty of board games, etc. But, my kids only seem to remember the pool table in the lower level. We spent many hours down there. The Arnold Rim trailhead is about a mile down the road, so that was convenient. Also, the Calaveras Big Trees State Park is just up the highway. So, the location is very good. One thing to know about the place is that the driveway(s) are VERY steep - think olympic ski jumping steep. Unless you have a high clearance, 4wd vehicle, I'd suggest parking on the street.
