Cute and charming but with an upgraded, contemporary feel. Petite, stone-built, three-storey cottage with view from the living room window towards the beautiful River Sarthe. Originally a 14th century toll-house at the entrance to the riverside village of Avoise, this unique property is now an ideal holiday home for those seeking a quiet and relaxing break in this beautiful region.
Outer stone steps lead up to the entrance of the property (middle floor) and into the living and kitchen area. A spiral staircase leads up to the bedroom, shower and separate WC on the top floor. The ground floor has a separate external entrance and is currently used as a utility room (washing machine, dryer) and bike storage (two bicycles are provided).
The bedroom has ancient ceiling beams and is equipped with a comfortable double bed, bedside tables, hanging cupboard, drawers and a washbasin. The shower and (separate) WC are en-suite.
The living / dining room has a two-seater sofa, arm-chair, coffee table, high-top dining table & chairs, dresser, DVD player, Bose speaker, Apple TV, and ceramic wall-mounted heater. There are large windows overlooking the access lane to the river. The compact kitchen facilities have recently been upgraded and include a cooktop, full oven, fridge with small freezer, Nespresso machine, toaster, and kettle.
Free unlimited wi-fi is available. All linens and towels are provided. You are a short 50 metre walk from the grassy riverbank. Take the folding chairs and enjoy a waterfront picnic, fishing, a book, a bottle of wine...
Plenty of free parking just a few meters away from the house.
