We had a wonderful stay at Olea. The room was very clean, spacious, private, and quiet and you can immediately feel at home as soon as you enter. The 140-year-old building has this amazing energy. It is located in the center of the historic area. We had a nice view to Ayvalik old town. The historic buildings, churches and mosques are just a couple of minutes' walk away, and so are the market and cornice.
The staff and management were super friendly. They offered us very good recommendations for local restaurants, island tours and the Sarimsakli beach. The breakfast was rich with local homemade jams, cheese, honey, and Ayvalik's famous olives, among many other traditional Turkish breakfast options. When the staff knew we were vegetarian, they took extra effort to prepare vegan dishes and salads even without us asking.
If you are arriving by your own car, I recommend leaving it in the car park during your stay and walk or use local transportation instead of having to drive through the very narrow streets of old Ayvalik every day.
Overall, it was a very nice stay and a very welcoming and helpful staff. Highly recommended.
