While this may be more fun with a larger group in the summer, to split the overall cost and take advantage of the outside fire pit, my husband and I were not very happy with the overall experience in late October for the price of over $500 total (with fees and insurance) for only two nights for two adults ... The house is quaint and decorated (paint, furniture, linens) nicely on the inside but it is clearly older (sagging porch gate, dip in kitchen floor, weird musty smell throughout) and too 'tight' in a few places (one and only bathroom, staircase ... couldn't even open one kitchen drawer with some complimentary toiletries as it hits the dishwasher). Furthermore, because it has sheer curtains on the living room windows (off the main road) and no cover curtain or blind on the main entry door with a huge glass windowpane (which is on the back of the house where no one else can easily see), I myself didn't feel comfortable sleeping upstairs (as someone could come to the glass door, see no one in the kitchen / living area there on the bottom floor, simply break the glass to get it). Bottom line: I was hopeful for a reasonably decent experience but it just didn't quite live up to that.
