Exceptional stay. We stayed 7 nights and had an amazing stay. Some of the highlights are great and friendly staff, free water in room, shuttle boat to IconSiam, plenty of street food outside the hotel if you don’t want hotel food, great breakfast and buffets. The hotel may not be brand-new but it is nowhere as run down as some people say on here. The price is right and the location is fantastic! Can thoroughly recommend!

The lounge on the 27th floor is in the evenings completely overcrowded and resembles a pub. The snacks seem low end. For breakfast it is the opposite, nice atmosphere and great selection of food. The rooms are small and dark, seems they save on electricity, a bit depressing.

We absolutely loved our stay of this hotel. We had a suite on the 27th floor. Which gave us access to a club lounge where we enjoyed our margaritas and a lovely spread of dinner food. The hotel is lovely. The breakfast buffet is quite the spread! Great variety of freshly cooked food of many ethnicities. Nice pool area overlooking the river. Our absolutely favourite pastime at this hotel was sitting in our room, watching the river traffic. Early morning, late at night it didn’t matter. Always some action. A real window into a different type of life.

A different take on the city
I stayed here while attending a conference at the Shangri La. It is about a 15 minute walk, but a quick ride in a taxi or tuktuk. I enjoyed having some distance to retreat between and after meetings. The Royal Orchid feels like it is a bit out of the foray of the city that truly doesn't sleep. There is only one street coming in and one going out and all suites face the river. Every morning you see the colorful tugboats towing their cargo out and every evening, the river lights up with dinner cruises and energetic music. There's a convenient shuttle boat to ICONSIAM for shopping and reasonably priced food and local crafts through to iconic global brands like Hermes and Louis Vuitton. You can get a proper Thai massage just up the street and the hotel is conveniently located next to River City, a mall themed around antiques and art.

The hotel is definitely a bit worn in terms of furniture in the rooms; however, the beds are comfortable and clean. Price is right and the location is my favorite of all the riverside hotels being close to Talat Noi/Charoen Khrushchev and Icon. The garden pool is very nice along with the shuttle boat. The room views are stellar as they all face the river
