Grade II listed house with river and castle views - Barnard Castle

A truly amazing location! This wonderful house sleeps six comfortably and offers a unique view of the Tees and Barnard Castle's castle. Perfect for walking, bird watching, photography and touring the wonderful North East. There is also fishing… riparian rights provide the right to fish (with a licence).

Barnard Castle is a lovely town to wander around and is only a 5 minute walk away.

Families with young children are asked to message in advance.

The house is Grade II Listed but with modern refurbishment inside. The space is furnished in a style which should make you feel happy and relaxed.

The entrance is on the ground floor which leads to a cloakroom (extremely tiny but very convenient!) and the kitchen/dining area. This area is by far the most beautiful of this unique house with a modern kitchen, magnificent dining table and views from the big sash windows on two sides of the River Tees and the castle.

Downstairs is reached by stairs which are uneven in depth (hence the concern about young children in the house) and one of the quirky features of having a listed building! The stairs lead to a very comfortable lounge with plenty of sitting space and a wall mounted television. There is terrestrial TV and a licence for the property.

On the first floor are three light and airy bedrooms and a large bathroom with separate shower. Bedroom 1 has a king size bed and view down river, bedroom 2 has a double bed and view over the river and of the castle and bedroom 3 is a large twin room.

Beside the house are steps to the riverside (only accessible when the river is low!) and an opportunity to see the varied wildlife (particularly birds) close up. There are beautiful riverside walks both upstream and downstream - go explore!
