Friendly and good value hotel
This is the second time we have stayed so it cannot be bad! The staff are wonderful , the location is beautiful, the rooms are adequate albeit a little tired , but that’s reflected in the reasonable price. Restaurant food is varied and good. Breakfast is basic but filling. I will return.
After looking at the many great reviews, we booked in at the Old Stone Trough for a 2 day break. It's in a countryside location and the original building, has been extended over the years to make it a very larger than expected hotel. Our room was located in the annexe. The reception area is very nice and a very friendly receptionist at the check-in desk. We had a deluxe double room which was very comfortable and there's plenty of parking spaces as well. We had a really nice evening meal and the breakfasts were also very good. The restaurant area is really nice as well. Skipton is not too far away from the hotel, which is a great town to visit. Our only complaint was, that there wasn't a phone in the room for contacting reception. A hairdryer is available from reception on request if required, tea, coffee and kettle are in the room, plus an iron and ironing board. So, we had a very relaxing stay and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice place to stay.
While the staff were friendly and welcoming unfortunately they were understaffed on our visit and our meal took several hours to complete! And when it did arrive they had obviously been sat under heating lamps. The breakfast was poor quality. The rooms were good value for the money and clean although an interesting wallpaper technique. We’d asked for a room fairly close to the restaurant and ended up as far away as possible and had to go outside to get to and from the restaurant. We could only see one disabled parking space and that was farthest away from the entrance. I would suggest that at least half of the spaces at the top car park should be designated as such. We have previously enjoyed our stays at this hotel but sadly we won’t be returning. Our best wishes to the staff.
great value, really nice (maybe quirky) restaurant and bar - lovely evening food. possibly lets itself down with breakfast, not the finest ive had but outstanding value
Absolutely stunning hotel. Was upgraded to an Annex room at no extra cost. Had lovely roast dinner in the restaurant. Great buffet style breakfast. Would love to stay there again. Bus stop outside hotel which goes to Skipton via Barnoldswick.
Very nice and well maintained pub. Bedroom and all the public rooms spotlessly clean. Very cold night, and the bedroom radiator was inadequate, only Luke warm, however I asked for additional heating and was given a fan heater straight away. Had an evening meal which was nothing special but adequate , also the dining area (bar) is very noisy even though the decor is modern and pleasant. Breakfast was pretty good , not an enormous choice but okay. I would have liked a cafeteria rather than being served with a cup of coffee. With a few tweaks this place would get five stars, as it is I’d give it four overall.
Title says it all,we took my mum booked room 50 and had a,lovely time .festive tasteful decorations big wood fires.fab food well priced and good atmosphere.to be fair no fault of hotel noisy party of ladies in very loud and it did spoil our experience in dining room but that was down to the people being incinsiderate of other diners .alcohol makes some people loud .just uncomfortable hearing private conversaionsas they talked over each other.staff were very proffesional and didnt make a difference as we were all paying customers second night was more relaxing atmosphere we lingered in dining room with a drink infront of log fire as it snowed outside.brealfast was welcome as always .we bring friends as its a gaurantee if good food clean rooms and warm and cosy at an affordable price when £is,tight. Proprioters are savvy enough to know all areas will benifit from guests to area shops attractions etc securing work and growth for area .over price lose your clientele or get repeat business.we would love to try other areas and establishments but fear less than what we know stonetrough offers.
