I am absolutely disgusted with this hotel and am putting in a formal complaint with the manager … I am FURIOUS!! With the lack of customer service and pure ‘can’t be bothered’ attitude. The lady on reception, Sharon, refused to give me the name of the manager, explaining to me that “she hasn’t got to do anything”. The shower in the room was pointless and I couldn’t even wash my hair, it would have been easier washing it in the spitting rain. The breakfast food and service was disgusting, I am utterly flabagasted at my whole stay and will be speaking with the hotel manager directly regarding my endless list of issues and will demand a refund - we contemplated packing up and leaving early the loud noise in the room became unbearable!!

Birthday party stay over
Hotel was ideal for a one night stay has will was going to a birthday party,
The rooms was comfortable and clean, probably in need of some TLC . I bit weary in places, but again it was not expensive.
Breakfast was ok, not much choice but again, breakfast was in with the price and we wasn’t expecting to get breakfast. So can not complain
Car parking was excellent.
It was a dog friendly hotel, which is great for dog lovers,
I have stayed st the OST in the past and there was a dedicated dining room for breakfast on the ground floor in 2017 .
at that time you had a proper service a cup and saucer for coffee or tea now its a mug.
A full English cooked breakfast was provided hash browns black pudding mushrooms fresh tomato with sausages bacon beans and pop up toasters were used .
now on offer is sausages beans bacon and tinned tomatoes . The other items not !
There used to be a choice of scrambled eggs or poached eggs not anymore. Jam and marmalade were in single portions on the table but now these in open dishes. Everyone can help themselves it is unhygienic. There were menus on the table at that time but not anymore. You go in to the dining room and work it out for yourself. I didn’t want a fry up I asked for a boiled egg or scrambled or poached these were refused. There were no yoghurts it was a sham.
I was told there were beans on toast and reception abruptly informed me the breakfast was complimentary! No GF food or choices
The hotel is dog friendly this must be new because there were never any animals in the dining room on my previous 2 visits in 2017.
I understand many people have dogs but I don’t think they should be by the table with their owners at meal times and I had to step over a dog several times .
The breakfast room is in the bar area and more tables have been added it is packed to the gills.
You used to get table cloths for dinner but not now.
The room was cold unclean
Room needed renewal. Breakfast was limited but OK. Evening meal was good with service at a high standard.

A bit disappointed.
First impression was good but we noticed that the wallpaper above the wall light was lifting and the ceiling wallpaper was lifting also. we booked an average room and it was certainly this. Should have upgraded I think.
The bed was comfortable, but tiny old fashioned shower with frayed towels.
The staff are very friendly and helpful and you could certainly tell who the regulars were.
The evening meals were of a very high standard and good choices. Served very quickly and were hot and served on hot plates.
The breakfast food on the other hand very disappointing. .Cold plates and bacon not very warm, sausage not very good quality. Fried eggs sitting in oil and baked beans of poor quality and only just warm.
No jam or marmalade available for toast, until the third morning. Not been delivered apparently.
We've stayed once before and liked it so much we came back for a family event.

We like that the hotel is warm and clean, offers good value for money, ideal for an overnight break with a very pleasant drive there and back for us. It would be nice to have marmalade available for our breakfast toast !
1.Shower plug hole blocked could've flood room
2.Bed leg broken
3. Kettle arrival to find lid jammed and dirty water in it
4. Staff congragate in a small group yaka yaka chat crap with each other at breakfast when needing help at the table .
5.Room 10 ugly highland cow picture on the wall with it's knickers down sat on a toilet . very upsetting where picture looks when in bed .
6. Room freezing although heater on wall not near bed this will NOT heat this room.
7 asking for part refund due to poor service and lack facilities. can't see I will get this sorted.
Won't be staying here again .
