This is a lovely location with amazing amenities and a beautiful view. However, the location has been seriously affected by Hurricane Maria. Part of the registration area and the once famous restaurant that stood on the property were completely destroyed. The guest rooms, the majority of which were built into the side of the mountain, withstood the winds and are in wonderful condition. It is my understanding after speaking with the concierge that they experienced some flooding during the storm, but thanks to their tile floors the damage, if any, was not a parent during our stay. The location is beautiful and the views were stunning from our balcony.
The customer service when we arrived was awesome. The hotel is in a rural area, so getting around isn't as easy as grabbing a cab or Uber. The front desk concierge, Miguel, was so helpful and when went as far as to text us recommendations and directions for places to eat etc in the area. We had a nice experience and look forward to revisiting again.
Warning: when we visited 6 months after Hurricane Maria, the the local area was still very much recovering, and this includes the hotel. Please call ahead to confirm your reservation prior to visiting the property. When my husband and I visited FEMA had requested a number of rooms in the property as staging grounds for recovery efforts and as a result a number of pre-existing guest reservations e cancelled at last minute.
