We had a lovely stay. Next time I’ll book a bigger room. Loved the pictures. The staff was so nice. Like staying with family. Hope next time the bar and restaurant will be up and running.

Wonderful historic property in small town Batesville , Indiana. This is rural America at its best in many ways. I can only hope the new owners of the hotel will succeed with plans to reopen the restaurant. It should a very fine culinary experience with an accent on German-American cuisine and more. Location for us was good. Walking distance for meals. Was very disappointed the website did not indicate the beir garden was closed. Number one reason we booked it.

Great night sleep
The room was clean. Bed comfortable and got a good night sleep. Disappointed that didn’t have restaurant or bar in hotel. There is a bier garten attached. The hotel is a historical listing. If you want a good night sleep this will be a good choice.

The staff was very friendly & helpful; the property is beautiful, but it would be nicer if the onsite restaurant &/or bar were in operation. Also, this time we lucked out & got one of the larger rooms, but relatives who were staying the same night had a very small room. (I understand that the uniqueness of the rooms is part of the charm, but can also be disappointing sometimes.)

Room was a nice smaller room either for an individual or a couple, 2nd floor would certainly not be beneficial to someone with disabilities or perhaps if they were a 'bigger' person. Overall very clean and nice, great German themed restaurant around the corner.
