The room was very clean. However, the hot tap in the bath did not work so we couldn't have a hot shower in the morning. There was no-one at reception to complain to about this, so we both ended up having a strip wash from the sink.
Check in was unsatisfactory - the receptionist had limited English language and asked for proof of the booking. He seemed surprised to learn that I didn't have a copy with me or access to my emails on my phone. This was despite me filling in a form with my details for him which presumably matched the ones he had on his own copy of the booking.
The room was cheap, cheaper than Travelodge for the same dates which is why we booked it but it still wasn't worth what we paid considering the lack of hot water. Even if we had had hot water I doubt the pressure would have been enough for a shower, judging by the rate the water came out of the sink tap.
This is a lovely old building in a great location, which has been ruined by a poor, cheap internal conversion, with cheap furniture, cheap carpets and amateur decorating.
