Need a vacation? I'm your Huckleberry! Come enjoy the serenity of this precious cottage on Caney Creek as seen on HGTV!!! Cute, little home in Sargent, TX - The Best Kept Secret on the Texas Coast! This home has an open kitchen/dining/living space that is a great place to hang out when inside, but why be inside when the outdoors has so much to offer! There is a large lot with moss-laden trees, a great spacious deck overlooking the creek, the large furnished patio space below the house, and the pier with a covered cleaning station. Spend the day fishing off of your private pier, reading a book in the peaceful hammock or take short drive or boat ride over to the ICW and Sargent Beach, enjoy the fishing, take a stroll on the beach, collect shells, or swim (at your own risk - no lifeguards) in the surf!

Fishing trip
House was nice and clean. Creek was fun to fish and we caught a few baby black drums and reds back there. But mostly caught bait and a couple of crabs. A lot of gar moving at night. But dead caney lake wasn’t 2 far and we caught a nice size drum out there. There was equipment to fish and crab but we brought our own. Would book again

Nice clean and quiet in a great neighborhood
We found this home to be very nice for two people. The living room area would be small for 4 or more people. The area is very nice and a short drive to the beach. We were hoping the fishing would have been better than it was. We had very few bites and only caught a couple of hard heads. My wife loves to catch blue crabs and one reason we reserved this place were previous reviews about the good crabbing here. In four days she caught one crab and was very disappointed. I feel its too far removed from the coast to attract any good fish or crabs. Other than that if you want peace and quiet this place would serve you very well.

Great little place!
Everything was clean and orderly. The only thing that would have made it better was that the crab traps were broken and I had planned on having a crab boil. Other than that, it was a great little place to stay and relax!

Fishing on Caney
It is a quiet, restful and has almost everthing you need. My husband and daughter enjoyed fishing off of the covered pier and I enjoyed reading under the large tree in the swing. while the dogs enjoyed the fenced in yard.

The house was clean, quiet neighborhood and a short drive to the beach. We caught a variety of fish/blue crab and had no mosquitoes, despite other’s experience, but we were ready. Overall a good trip and would come back again.

Weekend Getaway
Our stay was awesome. It was a very clean, very peaceful, serene, and great for family bonding. When we first arrived, one of the window units was not cooling and the living room was not getting cool enough for us. After contacting the rental company, they quickly got a portable A/C out to us and that remedied the problem. Very quick response. Loved that! I would definitely stay here again and recommend this place to friends and family.

We Absolutely Loved It!

We had a wonderful time having a quick little get away as a family. The house was very inviting and we felt at home. Weather was too rough for us to take our boat out but we still had plenty of luck fishing off the pier and catching crabs. Can’t wait to go back.

The house was clean and cozy, the place was quiet, so pretty and the fish were biting. Everything you need was furnished except food, clothes and your fishing stuff. Good communication and pre-checkin information from the property manager. We will be back!!

Even Better than the Pictures!
Dock Holiday was a wonderfully relaxing home with everything you could ever want or need. Although small, it was arranged well. The bed were very comfortable. The fenced yard was perfect for our dog. The dock was a great place to sit and watch birds fly by. Our only concern was the back driveway gate. It was hard to close and did not meet in the middle. The gap left was large enough for a small dog to get through. We improvised and put a large trash container in front of the opening and it blocked the gap. We would highly recommend this property for anyone who wants to get away and enjoy the quiet and the water!

Definitely a must
We took our son for his 16th birthday. His girlfriend as well as my 19 year old daughter and her boyfriend joined. The house was well maintained with kitchen utensils and a plus was a nice Weber BBQ pit that we used for steaks. The best part about this house was the deck on the creek with a fish cleaning sink just a small walk away. The creek was bigger than we expected. They caught reds, drum, flounder, catfish and perch as well as crab. The Gar are huge and unfortunately we didn’t have strong enough line so if you want to catch Gar I would suggest to bring strong line. We had absolutely no complaints. We have ATT and had complete service although they did provide WiFi. It is a smaller house but we had adequate room but our time mainly was spent out doors. The beach is just a very short dive and everyone is very friendly in the community. Definitely will be back.

Nice quite getaway
My family & friends really enjoyed our stay. Nice & quite. We had one little issue but it was quickly taken care of. Overall I would highly recommend this house if you want a nice little getaway & enjoy some fishing.
