I know you get what you pay for, but the listing for this home was misleading - it did not state that you are renting the bottom of a two-story home, and the owners are staying upstairs with a dog. We heard walking, barking, and TV over our heads.
The house is old and in disrepair. There is a sign in the only shower that reads, "use outdoor shower whenever possible!..." and continues to explain 6 steps you must take to prevent an indoor plumbing disaster. After a beach day, I went to use the outdoor shower, but the owner was in there, asking me to wait until she was done showering.
When we first arrived the sink in the bathroom was not draining, and dirt from the previous occupant was floating in it.
The AC unit in one bedroom was manufactured in 2003 and no longer cools properly. The owner's framed warning sign reads "Do not turn setting higher than 7. The inside wiring of the house is old and heats up and could cause a fire if over loaded".
The other bedroom has no AC.
During a thunderstorm, the ceiling leaked in two places. We put pots down to collect the water and texted the owner. She said she would come down and take a look in the morning, but she did not. After cleaning the whole house per her instructions, we checked out 30 minutes early, ready to go home.
