Our room #7 was charming with a wonderful balcony with a view of the lake. Hotel staff was helpful and the breakfast was a nice amenity and very good. The shower was amazing after a long day of train travel carrying our backpack luggage. Very convenient to shops and restaurants. Steps away from the ferry.

Mixed bag
This is an older hotel with good bones, but otherwise it was kind of bare bones. There were the basics, soap, shampoo in envelopes, towels, a bed. The balcony was tiny but big enough for 2 to sit and enjoy the view. The staff was helpful. The breakfast buffet was not too great. The hotel sits right in front of the ferry stop so is kind of noisy. It was crowded quite busy in the area in front of the hotel.

We enjoyed the large triple room at the hotel. It was so spacious and featured three floor to ceiling windows. The bathroom with large tub was luxurious. The staff were very very helpful providing restaurant recommendations and alerting us to a train strike, and helping find alternate travel arrangements. It is very well located, just across from the ferry (car) terminal and boat taxis. Right in the heart of all the action, which sometimes means it can be a bit noisy in the day, but lovely and quiet in the evening and morning. Our room looked over the water and the mountains, glorious.

The property is in a great location for all the shops, bars and quaint little streets. The ferry is directly opposite the hotel and is noisy from quite early. That's when we got up. The staff were quite ignorant really. No 'hello' as they passed and they seemed to avoid eye contact mostly. The hotel bar is just outside the front of the property The staff there were openly rude and ignorant. On one visit there was a sign to say 'wait to be seated' but people were just walking in without being challenged while we were just ignored. Breakfast was cold, even the bacon and scrambled eggs, the 3 days we stayed it just got more cold each day. I would not stay here in this hotel again. I would definitely not go the this bar again. Good job my daughter and son in law had a nicer hotel and bar which we went back to.

The hotel is right next to the ferry and in the main square. The rooms are spacious and clean, and it has a lot of old world charm.
