When I read the details about the hostel online, it said that check-ins are allowed until 11:30 pm. I assumed there was a staff present at the site till that hour. This was not the case.
When I arrived at around 9 pm, the hostel had this steel gate that you couldn't enter until you key in the security code. Unfortunately, none of the staff has sent me an email on how to login. Luckily, another guest checked in 15 few minutes after me who explained to me how everything works. You had to go through 5 layers of security to get in (which was good from a security perspective but bad from someone like me who didn't have anything). I asked him (the guest) to help me with my problem as no one from the hostel sent me any email for the instructions. He trusted me and provided me the contact support of the hostel. Luckily, I had a roaming mobile and rang up the hostel support. I spoke to her and had to ask her to send me the details via email. After 5 minutes, no reply. I called again and requested that the info be instead sent to me via WhatsApp. Everything had been sorted after 30-45 minutes of being unsure if I had a room to stay for the night. From there, everything was sorted.
