A tranquil country gite in the beautiful Monts d'Arree, Brittany


A completely self contained gite with open plan fully equipped kitchen/dining/living room and one bedroom with en suite shower. There is a private, fully enclosed and secluded south facing garden with patio area, secure parking and a charging point for electric vehicles available for a small fee.

The property was completely renovated in 2016 and is all on ground floor level which makes it ideal for people with limited mobility. The gite has everything you need for a comfortable stay - the kitchen is fully equipped with full size electric oven, 4 ring gas hob, fridge freezer, microwave and toaster. There is a comfortable seating area in the lounge which has a logburner, television with English or French TV channels and a DVD player. There is also free wifi. The bedroom has a double bed and storage and the shower room has a spacious corner shower cubicle and heated towel rail.

Please note that the minimum booking accepted is 2 nights.

Hot water and gas for the hob are included in the price, a complimentary basket of logs for the logburner is provided, further logs can be bought from us or compressed logs are available at supermarkets. All other electricity consumed will be charged at 30 cents/Kwh (the meter will be set to zero on arrival and read on departure) therefore you will only pay for the electricity you have used.

We are located in the hamlet of Quinoualc'h midway between La Feuillee, the highest village in Brittany, and Berrien on the D42.

The nearby town of Huelgoat (less than a ten minute drive) offers all the amenities needed to make your stay in this lovely area as comfortable as possible. There are banks, post office, supermarkets, bars, restaurants, tourist office, cinema and a pharmacy.

I'd stay here again in a heartbeat
What a lovely comfortable gite to stop in for a week or more if you want. The enclosed garden was perfect for both of us and our dog. Carolyn was a great host. The area is beautiful with facilities available within 5 minutes and Huelgoat only 15 minutes away. We loved everything. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Thanks again Carolyn & Graham for a lovely break.

A wonderful Experience
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at La Crèche. It was a quiet location in a rural setting with access to roads that led to many many wonderful places. The owners were very helpful and friendly. La Crèce was perfect for us.

Weather was not so good but the gite was comfortable enough to just sit and relax in. Wood burner helped giving an homeLy evening. Small garden ideal for dog. All local amenities were very good and our hosts left us alone but were there if needed.

The cottage was really nice, surprisingly spacious due to the high ceilings. Well stocked with everything you would need. The garden was secluded and adequate for us to enjoy and the dog to run around. Caroline and Graham were very welcoming and helped us with a couple of issues, very good hosts. The internet was hit and miss, but we believe this to be an issue with the provider, despite the owners attempts to improve it.

Rural Idyll
A lovely location and immaculately presented. Carolyn and Graham were very welcoming and gave us useful local knowledge of the area. We will visit again. Very good location for exploring many places and also close to Roscoff ferry port.

Excellent hideaway in rural Brittany
Great place to get away from it all with good hosts, nice converted barn with all the necessities catered for. There was plenty of room with easy parking for our van and pretty surroundings in a cul-de-sac in a typical french hamlet. Green ways and cycle paths/bridleways literally on the doorstep and tons of countryside walking. Nearest supermaket, bakery, bar, etc 5-10mins drive or 30mins cycle. Carrolyn and Graham were friendly and very helpful and even left various veggies from their smallholding for us. The area around Huelgoat has plenty of interest and dozens of places to put on the tick list. Recommended, we'll be back.

Comfortable and Homely
Carolyn and Graham were so friendly and gave us such a warm welcome, we felt at home straight away. The Gite was beautifully renovated to a very high standard and immaculately clean. It was much bigger inside than the photos show as the ceiling was high with lovely wooden beams. It was equipped with everything we needed and very homely. The bed was very comfortable. It had a lovely private garden and access to an even bigger garden although we didn’t use it much as there is so much to visit in the surrounding area. In fact if you like to visit towns and places of historical interest, also the sea and coastal areas, this Gite is perfectly situated, in the centre of the Finistere region of Brittany. We even had the perfect sunny weather for the week which was the icing on the cake. We loved our stay and hope to return again one day.

Clean inviting and friendly. We were made welcome from the moment we arrived.
We were treated as old friends from the start. Nothing was too much trouble and everything in the gite was brand new, tasteful and efficient as well as functional. Our hosts were full of knowledge about the area and even offered short cut directions for us. We loved our stay and have nothing but praise for the warmth and professionalism we received. Will definitely return and would recommend this gite to everyone. PS - very good with our dogs.

Sejour calme et reposant au cœur d'une terre de légendes. A voir absolument : la foret de Huelgoat et la chapelle st michel au point culminant des monts d'arrée.

Un petit coin de paradis pour les randonneurs
Gîte coquet avec l'essentiel, la propriétaire est très accueillante à l'écoute et discrète. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour, endroit très calme parfait aussi pour les promenades de chien (on peut faire des kilomètres sur des sentiers forestiers et de randonnées juste en sortant à pied du gîte.) Nous avons été ravis.

Séjour dans les Monts d’Arrée
Séjour très agréable dans le gîte « le crèche ». Logement propre et tout confort. Carolyn est une personne très agréable et disponible. Belle attention de sa part à notre arrivée avec une bouteille de vin. Le lieu est très calme et bien situé par rapport aux différents intérêts touristiques locaux (Monts d’Arrée, forêt de Huelgoat, vallée des Saints…). Nous reviendrons sans hésiter.
