Had a lovely stay at The Bethesdan. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was super comfortable. The hotel is in a quiet safe area with multiple restaurants within walking distance. Though we didn’t try it, the hotel also has a bar and restaurant on site. Only about a half mile walk from the metro station. If I’m in Bethesda again I will definitely stay here again.

Managements assisted on retaining $50 above and beyond the already paid room stay claiming its for over use or abuse of property . This practice is illegal and extortionary method to get more money from customers without prior knowledge. i would NOT have booked in this hotel had i known about this $50 retainage. its very bad.

Front desk staff and bar staff were great. Room was comfortable. Shower was great - hot water and good pressure. Parking was a challenge. More signage and Exit signs would help. Coffee machine in room was problematic. Would have liked to have towels changed and room cleaned after first night.

Great hotel
This hotel and the rooms were very clean. The staff was nice. The lobby smelled really good. The location was perfect. The only downside is the elevators they didn't always work correctly. They would skip floors, the call button would turn off, etc. Sometimes you waited 10+ minutes for the elevator (there were 2) When housekeeping was using the other one it was worse. I'm not sure why they couldn't use the service elevator. Overall we loved this place!
