The Bethesdan is a serviceable option if you need to be in the area. The staff were kind and helpful for the most part. The lodging itself is a bit clunky. The bed doesn’t come with a fitted sheet so you are laying on an exposed mattress pad. The parking fee is a bit high but we knew that coming in so we paid it. It is a bit pricey for the experience but if you need to be close to NIH the location is worth it. You are a miniature or two from the campus.

We just got back from our trip to Bethesda - and I wanted to mention that the staff (EVERYONE) was fantastic and attentive. The location was awesome - we walked everywhere and even took a historical walking tour of downtown Bethesda That was all great! The plumbing fixtures in the hotel were loose - I felt that they were going to break every time that I used them. They worked fine - just seemed too flimsy. The parking garage was terrible - VERY tight! But we spent the weekend without mishap! Overall, I would stay here again without hesitation - because the staff were THAT good!!

The parking garage has low ceilings, tight turns, small spaces, inexplicable puddles in places, and costs $35/night. Bring your smallest car. It's 1 block from Trader Joe's, two doors from a terrific Mexican restaurant (Guapos) but the next door building is empty, completely unlighted, and homeless people (can't blame them) hide out in the doorways. Rooms are beautiful, restaurant bright and cheery, has a bar for an evening drink. The rooftop pool closed labor day - despite the fact that DC/MD Septembers are very warm and swimable...

The Bethesdan has become my favorite go to hotel when I come into town to visit. However, this particular stay was completely different. When I checked in I was assigned to a room on the 11th floor. The key didn’t work and I had to go back to the lobby. I was reassigned a room on the 10th floor room 1023. The room was clean as always, but the television wasn’t working properly at all. Half the channels didn’t work and the ones that were working had a fuzzy viewing. I don’t complain much at all, but I informed the staff of the issue. They asked if I wanted another room. I said yes and I was told that they would get back to me and get me another room. I needed comfort because I was in town for bereavement and serious family business. The room never happened. Upon checking out I explained this to them again. They apologized for what happened, but I felt like from a business perspective they should’ve offered something complementary for their mishaps. I was disappointing because I’m the one who didn’t receive everything I in fact paid for. I hope by writing this that something can still happen. I still love ❤️ you guys, but I still should be compensated in some way because that was a very difficult weekend for me. Anyway thanks for hearing me out and I hope they can make this right.
