We loved this place. It was incredibly charming. We loved the little creek running behind the place. It was quaint and charming! However…. The whole place does need some love. The place needs a paint job badly. There’s “storage” in every corner of the restaurant and lot. I know the owner loves this place and is doing her best. It just needs a bit more time and energy.

The inn is old and in need of a lot of renovations and repair. In fact, most of the floors are uneven, the carpets are worn, the bathrooms are dated but functional, and the furniture and everything in and around the inn just looks old. And yet, the place is like a museum with antique furniture and collectibles, and old book collections and relics. If you're tired of modern, predictable hotels and motels, and want something different....this is the place to go. But if you're looking for all the usual modern fixtures and updated rooms with TV's, or an unusual home cooked breakfast, this might not be the best choice. Needless to say, it's price is reasonable but you get what you pay for.

The property had a bit of charm, enjoyed the hardwood floors and older furniture pieces. The owner was kind and provided an extra blanket and pillows that were appreciated. However found the place cluttered, had an odor, had outside furniture toppled over and the window sills needed a good vacuming. Likely, will not book again.

This was a very homey little hotel in a beautiful area. It was quiet and clean. I was traveling with my husband and two adult children and a 12 yr old. They had a room with a separate area with a door for my husband and I and two queen beds for my boys. A small breakfast was included in a sit down dining room which was a surprise. We received our ordered food quickly. The only complaint was that the juice we got was in a tiny glass.

Our room was in a rustic, older building beside the main building, with beautiful and comfortable antique furniture, a private porch overlooking a rushing river that was lovely to watch and listen to. Our king bed felt like memory foam, and very comfy! Breakfast, which was included in our stay, was cooked to order and delicious!

Not Bob Newhart's inn
Don't know where people gave it excellent ratings. Check in was like she was thinking Do I have a room? It was up a pair of steep steps. Room number one should not be rented out! The floor is not even. We're old and the slope felt like we were in a Fun house. WWE nearly stumbled several times. It is horrible. As for clean! There were black big dust bunnies. My little. Dog would walk and come up with them on his face and legs. The towels.were scratchy. The bed was too high and hard Sorry folks I've stayed in many Inns and you can't compare. There was old furniture in every corner and crack. Clean up your halls. It's no Bob Newhart Inn. You don't know Quaint. Should be a tv. The hair dryer was even broke.

The primary reason I chose the Inn was because of the balcony overlooking the river, and the fact it was advertised as non smoking. The guests in the room beneath us were smoking on their balcony, which came upwards and onto our balcony and into our room. We were offered a new room with double beds. (We had a room with a queen bed.) We refused to move, because there was no guarantee that it wouldn’t happen at the new room, too. Otherwise the Inn decor is dated, but it was clean.

Really The only thing positive about this location was.The restaurant staff was very kind and courteous. We needed to contact the front desk over several days. Left voicemail. Never received a call back for a reply by email.. I even left a message over the expedia app.And never received any responses This is not only concerning, but why couldn't you get a hold of the resort staff?

The inn suffers from daily neglect, broken items are left around, toys and things are piled up in various areas, windows are dirty, furniture has not seen a dust cloth in a very long time, trash basket are filled. It could be a beautiful place but it needs to have caring innkeepers. The food was pretty good, the service in the dining room was slow but the staff was good.

The door had issues with swelling and sticking, the shower was leaking and soaked all of the towels in the bathroom before I was able to use it and the shower had a specific way it needed to be turned to have the water transfer to the shower head. When I brought all of these issues to the front desk, they were helpful and apologetic, but they were also aware of the issues beforehand. Had I been warned at check-in, it would have been more acceptable. Printed shower directions would have prevented difficulties and miscommunication. The towels were soaked, which I didn't find out until I was getting out of the shower. The towels should have been kept in a different spot and the leak should absolutely have been addressed before the room was allowed to be rented.

Quirky place with friendly and helpful staff in a beautiful location. Breakfast is excellent, with a view of the river. Annex rooms have river view balconies. This hotel is a work in progress with lots of updating still to do, particularly the outdoor areas, but the story of the new owner taking on the inn is admirable and it’s great to support an independent business. Close to the town, which has lovely shops and restaurants.
