Poor standards and safety issues
First off, the woman who opened up the villa was extremely rude and only showed my daughter in law around the villa, insisting everyone else should wait outside. Afer 15 minutes, I'd had enough and went in telling this lady we were coming in.
Added to this, the smoke alarms throughout the villa did not work, and as there was no way of securing the separate apartments, we had to close the metal shutters at night. With no smoke alarms, this is unbelievably dangerous. The facilities were adequate
but the decor was poor
The the use of the pool however was very much appreciated.
The VRBO website shows the villa backing on to countryside but in reality was there was an huge housing estate there instead
On checking out, the same rude woman counted all the cutlery piece by piece as she did with the glasses, plates and pans. This took 25 mintes. It was just as well we checked out a day earlier so we could catch an early plane the following day.
If we had wanted to check out as agreed at 7am on the 4th day, this rude woman told us she would not have got out of bed to let us out.
We have photos of all the shoddy decor if required.
Needless to say, my family and I are furious and will not book this villa again. I suggest VRBO re examine this accommodation and wether it meets the standards I expect from VRBO, who I have used on numerous occupations.
