Great Resort in Awesome Location
This place was amazing. The views, walkability, location, staff and restaurant all deserve 5 stars! We were there for 5 nights and wish we had stayed longer. We did the complimentary penguin show twice during our stay and saw many other animals besides the penguins. The only minor thing is that we wish the kitchen had been better equipped. There was only a frying pan, a small and medium pot (no large pot, mixing bowls, or colander for pasta). Other than that we would highly recommend Diamond Island Resort.

Our ocean view apartment didn’t exactly have an ocean view but the view to the outside garden was nice. Bedrooms were upstairs but the stairs were dangerously designed and taking suitcases upstairs wasn’t a fun task. Apart from that it was comfortable and warm and a free penguin viewing

The steak I had in the Restaurant was excellent, tasty, tender and cooked just as Irequested. My wife had fish which she enjoyed. The pillows on the bed were a little too large for comfort and caused a mild neck pain.

Beautiful location and access to lovely beach. Penguins an added treat. Our bedrooms were a bit outdated, but comfortable. A balcony would have been nice! Bathroom had a constant sewer type smell.

Didn’t realise bedrooms were upstairs and bathrooms downstairs having very bad arthritis I’m sometimes unable to climb up and down stairs Spoke to the manager and he advised us we had a sofa bed in the room l could use and arranged for housekeeping to bring some extra bedding to our unit Nothing was too much trouble for them Much appreciated

Diamond Island Resort has very clean and spacious rooms , an expansive well kept green space and only minutes walk from the beach and Diamond Island to explore. We were lucky enough to see two baby penguins and one adult penguin

Beautiful location but there are a few downsides
The location of the resort is wonderful and we had an amazing view from our balcony. The unit was also very spacious. We had dinner at the resort which was very good. The downsides were the room is dated with minimal furnishings but the bed was very comfortable. Also significantly, the phrase Penguin tour is a bit misleading. We stand on a platform on the resort’s grass and hope Penguins come up to the platform area. We are not permitted to enter the beach area where other paid tours go. We stood on the platform 2 nights and never saw a Penguin. If you don’t care about seeing the penguins, it is still a lovely location to stay in. The pool area looks clean and nice too and the views are wonderful.
