We stayed at the house for a month in glorious summer weather. The house did the job for us as a base from which to sleep and see family. We did make some meals, but nothing complicated.
The location is great. The cul-de-sac is nice and quiet other than on the days the recycling vans show up and the gardener cuts the grass (later in the day would have been nice as he came way too early for people that just flew in from a long-haul flight the day before).
The owners were great when we were booking and offered the flexibility we needed. On-site, Andy responded quickly when we found a kitchen utensil needed changing, but was then silent when we followed up with another issue.
The upstairs rooms are comfy but can be quite stuffy, so we needed to buy fans to keep air flowing during the hotter days. I'd recommend those by in the property to help future guests.
The back garden offers a nice amount of shade in the morning to sit and enjoy a book or breakfast. Laundry facilities were great, especially the washing line in the garden.
The front room was fine and the TV was nice. The internet was intermittent and we had to reboot the router every day, but then it was ok.
The kitchen works well. Some more cutlery would have been nice given there is no dishwasher. The kettle could do with replacing (another small detail) as it leaks when pouring anything but a trickle.
There were other small things that could have been tweaked to make this a 5 star stay, including a set of extra keys, a footstool, more attention to the kitchen sink pipes and fans for the hot rooms. The vacuum cleaner filter needs changing as it pumped out some nasty air when we used it after a couple of weeks. Small things we worked around but the reason for the 3.5 star review.
