I recently stayed at Arden House NEC and unfortunately, my experience fell far short of expectations. The lack of basic amenities and subpar conditions made for a less-than-pleasant stay.
The shower in my room was in poor condition, with very weak water pressure. This made for an uncomfortable and frustrating experience. When I attempted to use the shower the main fuse box downstairs, tripped 4 times and I was unable to shower. I raised this and was then moved to a different room.
This alternative room was cramped, with a large chair and footstall squeezed up the side of the bed restricting access from the side.
Furthermore, the absence of windows in the bedroom created a claustrophobic atmosphere, depriving the room of natural light and ventilation. It felt more like a dark, cramped box than a comfortable accommodation.
To add to the discomfort, there was no central heating in the room, bar a broken radiator, leaving it cold and unwelcoming, especially during a chilly night. This lack of heating made it difficult to relax and enjoy my time in the room.
The bathroom/toilet also had a large plain glass window, so no privacy at all and everything was on show to the world.
Overall, I was deeply disappointed with my stay at Arden House NEC. The combination of poor shower facilities with an electrical fault, lack of windows in the bedroom, plain window in the bathroom/toilet and no central heating made for a thoroughly unpleasant stay. I would not recommend this hotel.
