Everything in the room was old , dirty carpet, not to my taste compared to other branches I have used before. They changed our room 3 times on the day before we settled in after a long trip , they put us in shower room instead of combination of bath and shower I paid for so this was the reason of room changes and on the process I lost my son’s new foot wear I bought from next in one of the rooms which they couldn’t find for us . It wasn’t near my expectation.

Such a find. Twin room with vast beds was so great, the service was exceptional and in the end we ate in both nights as we’d walked so far all day and our meals were v good. The B&B deal through hotels.com was v good, as was the breakfast we enjoyed both days.

The hotel claimed they didn’t have my booking even though could prove it and they said they could see I had booked so they eventually offered us a room which wasn’t what I ordered and paid for they said they cld put some camp beds in for our children I had ordered 2 doubles! When we checked the room the beds were not suitable for our children so my husband complained and they finally gave us 2 interconnecting double rooms however the attitude of the reception staff was shocking and if my husband hadn’t said the beds were not suitable they wldnt have done anything! And I honestly think they would have sent us on our way still claiming they didn’t have us booked in It was extremely stressful as due to them taking forever to sort it out even though they cld see the booking they almost made me late for my graduation! I have used Crowne hotels and IHG many times and the reason I picked this hotel over others even though I cld find cheaper elsewhere very disappointing

Lovely hotel and easy walk to city centre. Beds very comfy and air con a must in a family room. Check in a bit slow and hotel noisy early morning with lots of kids running around but overall good value for a family stay

No hot water in the bath. Rude night manager
I stayed here last week and it was really nice so decided to stay again. This time the stay was very unenjoyable and I will not be staying again. At 10.30pm we were trying to bath our 2 under 2s, but there was no hot water. We called reception and they sent a man up to look, after 5 minutes he could also not get hot water, so I said if you can’t get hot water after 5 minutes just move us room, the kids need a bath and bed (they were both screaming at this point). He was not listening and still playing with the taps. I called reception and spoke to the night time duty manager to log a complaint. He repeatedly refused to log my complaint and argued with me. He had no level of customer service. He kept repeating what he had tried to do to fix the problem rather than admitting there was a problem and logging my complaint. He also becomes part of my complaint as he was so frustrating to talk to. We couldn’t fit our double buggy through the bedroom door (it fits through standard doorways) because the inside wardrobe was blocking it.Overall, the stay wasn’t great at all, but the managers attitude is the main reason I won’t be staying again, when you are making an honest complaint, the last thing you want to hear is, well it’s not the hotels fault, it depends on how many people use the hot water and if lots of people use it , it goes cold. I did not chose to stay in a 4* hotel to deal with a rude manager and have a cold bath. Had to argue for 10mins before being offered a room change

Amazing staff
Great stay. Room was very spacious, clean and had everything we needed. Recently refurbished. The staff were amazing from the check in desk to the lady at breakfast and all staff members that we came in contact with were very friendly. The fantastic staff definitely made our stay all the better.
