We were extremely disappointed when the property was viewed on hotels.com the majority of photos used are that of the main hotel. Admittedly we got an email explaining that our accommodation was not in the main building, but we did not expect to be staying in student accommodation. On arrival to the external accommodation the lift was not working, then when we plugged in our phone charger rhe electrics blew. The shower over flowed when being used as the drainage was extremely poor and the facilities extremely dated. There was no literature or information showing menus, restaurant and bar opening times local buses, taxi numbers etc.. The general cleanliness was poor carpets were stained and fixtures and fittings dated back to the ninetys.
Was fine, room was not brilliant, but good. Bar/restaurant was good. Just wish we had been told that the annex we were in was more or less empty, as we put the car in the large car park, to walk across the road to find one car in the car park, and am it was raining. But would recommend.
Room, food and location were good.
Reception staff were poor. Getting info on parking arrangements was like drawing teeth. Paid for 2 rooms but when my friend went to check in an hour later, he was told he hadn't paid. No apology was given when proof of payment shown later. Paid for 2 breakfasts each when checking in but on arriving at restaurant each morning no record of booking on list and had to show card payments to staff member who was very good. Time to sharpen up your act me thinks.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The room was a good size but the bathroom a little small. Good location for Edgbaston Cricket ground (bout 20/25 minute walk). Staff at reception on check in, polite & helpful. Shops/restaurants about a 20 minute walk away.
The web never said it was at the university, the toilet flush is not working properly, the music was very loud, and the pissed up teenags screaming and shouting till 12.30 at night would never stay again, I would like a full refund not happy at all with the stay
Was dirty and uncomfortable, looked like an old run down motel or student accommodation. Had to upgrade. No compensation received. Looks worse than photos

Liked: Cleanliness
Because one has to sleep
Petite shower. Uncomfortable twin mattress.
Please clean vs Do Not Disturb sign not respected.
Very good hot/continental breakfast.
Bar food overpriced and not nutritionally balanced; for a captive audience without other options around unless ordering delivery.
Five minute wait at reception without acknowledgment.
Accommodation is five minutes’ walk away, not the two as stated.
Hotel resembled student halls with equal decor. TV didn’t work, so ended up moving rooms, channel reception faulty on a few still. Handyman did do his best to solve, however.
“Double bed” was not as stated - two single beds put together with a small gap.
Duvet cover had two hand sized holes in it, and completely open at one end without means to close it.
Double duvet was also two singles sewn together.
Marks on the floor in the shower.
Told to park in their car park, tiny spaces and car door got scratched overnight - hotel claimed “it’s an independent party that deals with it” and passed the buck. Cctv for customer safety but not allowed to see it to see what happened?!?!
I had room 6, which is clearly designed for people with access issues. Nothing wrong with that, the bathroom was essentially a wet room. Again, nothing wrong with that. The shower head seemed quite small and without much power. It also was at a maximum height that only reached to just below shoulder level. I am not particularly tall, 177cm. I’d have liked to be able to stand upright and wash my hair.
The double bed was actually two narrow single beds, made up separately.
I did not sleep well.
Not as pictures portray, pics for hotel I'm guessing. Clean standard for what it is. TV, aerial has to positioned to get good signal. Hairdryer did not work
I usually stay at the Edgebaston hotel across the road, but due to no vacancies i stayed here for one night. Its clean and easy access to the other hotel, but the bathroom is very out dated with green suite and the shower is such a small cubicle, the bedroom is fine with everything you could need. Would of liked a glass but you just get two cups, not the end of the world and for the price it was ok for one night. Glad it wasnt warm otherwise it would of been hot in this room with just a fan.
