Studio Cottage on Historic Blue Mountains Property

If you are looking for a quiet, tranquil, relaxing escape to the Blue Mountains, then Mount Booralee is the place for you.

Nestled on 20 acres of private, natural bushland in Blackheath, Mount Booralee, first settled in 1880, is one of the mountain’s most historic properties.

The 1930's Federation style home is surrounded by stunning formal gardens and parkland areas with a lily pond, water garden and the Summit – a high rocky outcrop offering panoramic views of the surrounding district.

The Mount Booralee Studio is a relaxed, cosy environment offering a king size bed with quality linens, modern bathroom and fully equipped kitchenette. The Studio is separate from the main house and the private deck looks out onto manicured lawns and beautiful gardens as well as district views across the Grose valley and beyond.

The property is surrounded by National Park and teems with local native fauna and flora. Easy access to walking trails and mountain lookouts makes Mount Booralee a favourite for bush walkers, international tourists and those just wanting the peace and quiet of a weekend (or longer) in the mountains.

Mount Booralee is only a four minute drive to the restaurants, cafes and antique shops in Blackheath village.

Guests have full access to all areas of the property, plus BBQ facilities and a fire pit are available for use - weather and fire regulations permitting

On request (weather permitting), the hosts offer a Pizza and Fire Pit night and a Sundowner's hamper for guests to enjoy on the Summit at sunset.

Note: We are pet friendly for dogs only as we have two very friendly and sociable dogs on the premises.

Great weekend getaway
Easy to access, lovely light filled studio with a beautiful leafy valley view. The flowers on the garden's trees straight out from the studio's windows were wonderful this time of year. Daryl and Richard were very hospitable and provided all that we needed and more.

A tranquil retreat
Wonderful hosts, generous hospitality and a beautifully scenic abode. Despite the proximity of the main house, we had privacy and felt welcome to explore the surrounding gardens. We were well set up with snacks and essentials - even real milk, eggs and bacon in the fridge! A true haven for relaxation … we loved our mini break at Mt Booralee Estate and our friendly farewell from Daryl, Richard and Temba

Charming cozy cottage with beautiful views!
We really enjoyed our weekend stay at Mt Booralee Estate. The cottage is very tidy, private, comfortable and full of character, set in lovely grounds with views out to the valley. The kitchen was well stocked to make delicious breakfasts and other meals - we felt very spoiled! Great place to relax, and also to explore the area. We will definitely be staying again! Thanks for having us.

Great location to stay whilst visiting the Blue Mountains, enjoying the warm days with cooler misty nights, beautiful and serene with the occasional visit from the wild life. We were very well looked after, had our privacy and enjoyed their friendship.

Perfect mountain getaway
not sure my words will do the stay enough justice, but here goes! The hosts were considerate, generous and kind not forgetting the sweet Hungarian Vislas Duke and Temba. If you’re a dog lover, it’s extra incentive to come here 😄 the location and the studio was beautiful. The kitchen fully equipped - so much more than expected. My mum and our little doggie also loved it. Waking up to the mountains, a fab 360 view from the 2min walk lookout rock. Location heritage listed yet the studio cabin had such a lovely European design. Perfect for us to drive to near by hot spots like Leura and Katoomba. Blackheath also a lovely little town with cafe and gift stores. I’m hoping to come back here as a retreat for myself if life gets too hectic and need to disconnect and unwind. Only minor comment, the wifi was weak signal, although it did help to unplug a bit more, would’ve been good if it was better reception. Especially if guests are looking to stay longer and just spend most of the time in the area. Thank you for the memories

Everything and More For the Perfect, Recuperative Escape
The photos do not do justice to the natural beauty surrounding the cottage and the instant sense of calm that descends when you enter. It is beautiful, restful and filled with thoughtful touches and inclusions. From the warm welcome from the delightful host and his friendly Vizsla family, to the bottle of wine already chilling, I am counting days until I can again excuse myself from the frenetic pace of city living to return. You will find everything you need and far more. I cannot recommend highly enough the total immersive experience. You will (reluctantly) leave revitalised, and impatient to return. Thank you, Daryl!

One Word .....Bliss
From the moment we drove through the gates to the entrance fountain court and then the warm greeting by Daryl, we were enchanted. We were looking for a respite after a traumatic couple of weeks and we found it at Mount Booralee. The gardens engulfed us and take us to our own little oasis...peacefull , colourful, fragrant, emersed with clean mountain air. Once inside our private studio where every minute attention to detail was laid out for our spledour and enjoyment along with a fridge full of the most delectable hand selected goodies from the Blackheath community to compliment Daryl's fresh bowl of blueberries from the garden. The bed reminded us of our stay at The Langham in London for its quality and preparation. After two nights we left new people ready to travel back down the mountains to Sydney realty....we will be back and in 24 hour we have ten people who are planing to experience the magic of Mount Booralee.

Idyllic mountains retreat
We really enjoyed our time at this Blackheath historic cottage. The location on the large property is stunning, exactly what we expected from the listing. Daryl and his family are great hosts - very warm, welcoming, and ready to help out with anything we needed. Our only regret was our busy timetable and not being able to spend more time there enjoying the surrounds and hospitality. We'll definitely look at going back to stay again and spending more time chilling out and appreciating all this place has to offer.

Absolutely Stunning
A beautiful property with gorgeous views, gardens and a short summit walk. The hosts were very generous with complementary items and very hospitable. The room itself was very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The hosts have two friendly dogs who said hello, they did bark a little on and off but I would definitely go back again.
