A group of 6 of us came to celebrate a 50th birthday. We couldn’t get a vehicle pass for the ferry, so we hoofed up the hill to the house. It was a short walk from the ferry. We rented bicycles and rode or walked all over the island.
The house was a perfect home base for our adventures. It’s isn’t a luxury home, but Spring clean, comfortable, has all the things we needed for a long weekend, and the location couldn’t be beat.
There were houses close by with guests also celebrating their own events, so there was a good amount of activity. We liked that. If you are looking for super quiet, this may not be the spot for you. It wasn’t at all rowdy or anything like that. We may have been the noisy group, chatting around the fire pit in the evenings.
The fire pit was ready to go for us when we got there, which was a nice surprise and a thoughtful touch. All we really needed to do was light it.
The house was clean and comfortable. Douglas’ communication was outstanding!
The Atlantic and The Spring House are just across the way and are both excellent dining experiences. The walk to the main drag with shops and restaurants was very short. There is the hill, so if mobility is an issue for anyone in your group, you may want to make sure you have a vehicle.
We all agreed we would stay there again, and probably will.
