This hotel felt like it was a homeless shelter. There was numerous people outside of the side entrance, sitting in lawn chairs and the area stank with marijuana. Then there was someone in the main lobby in a wheelchair with a beggar's cup, who appeared to be getting money from the main front desk. The crossway for the 2nd floor had a railing of sorts, which had another guy who appeared to be homeless just watching everyone who walked in or out of the building. Neither myself or my wife felt safe at all.
When I was pulling items from my car into the hotel, the people at the side entrance watched me like a hawk. Every item I pulled out of my car, I felt like I was being sized up. When my wife arrived, there was someone sitting underneath the window as well...
Inside of the room itself, it was a disaster. The bathroom towel rack was attached to the wall by a single screw and only contained one towel. The door to the bathroom had knobs, but no mechanical parts inside to even keep the door shut. The TV looked like a throwback to the early 90's and the dresser it sat on had huge chunks that had been scratched out of it. There was a massive burn in the main table, the size of a coffee mug. All in all, it was a VERY unpleasant room. After being in the room for all of 3 hours, we found another hotel close to the Mall of America and left. We knew we didn't get a refund but we didn't care.... we didn't feel safe and wanted to get out as soon as possible.
