You NEED an SUV!! The cabin itself was very cute! We were not aware that our car would struggle to get over the railroad tracks and up and down the mountain. The road is narrow with lots of potholes and the turn to get onto the road where the cabin is located is steep. We needed to go up and down the mountain several times a day and it was not pleasant and took quite a toll on our car.
The cabin was very cute! The property owner called us the first night to check and see if we needed anything and even walked us through getting the fireplace going. There was trash around the property that had been there for many months at least and we let the property owner know, we also cleaned some of it up ourselves too with no issues, but I know others might have been upset. The hot tub was great on the deck but it takes a LONG time to warm up - 8-12 hours. It was nice to look up at the night sky, very little light pollution in the little ravine where the cabin is located. I do wish there had been more throw blankets. Also, they provide one roll of TP and paper towels, so bring your own. I would also suggest you bring extra towels if you don't want to share. There is a mini washer/dryer combo that washes about 4 towels at one time, so don't plan on doing any large loads, but it gets the job done and pretty quickly.
If you enjoy a morning run, you're in for a nice challenge up the mountain road and back down. If you're looking for a secluded rustic cabin to get away for a bit, this is it!
