Rustic Loft in North Georgia Mountains

Solitude, comfort and relaxation can be found in this cozy loft nestled in the beauty of the North Georgia Mountains! The loft's rustic touches blend perfectly offering classic mountain charm with all the modern conveniences that you could possibly need. Plus, you'll enjoy the deck overlooking mountain pastures, the rock fireplace for a romantic evening or the firepit for roasting hot dogs or marshmallows.

The space
The loft is a studio apartment over the owner's detached garage and has two queen size beds; a sitting area with 55" wide-screen TV & DVD; a small kitchen with stove, mini-frigerator & microwave, cookware, and dishes; and dining area for four. The bath features a glass-door, tiled shower and well-lit rustic vanity and hide-away toilet.

You have access to a charcoal grill for outdoor food preparation and enjoy dining under a covered, rock patio with fireplace. Or, sit around a cozy fire and roast marshmallows or hot dogs in the circular rock firepit.

Welcoming Mountain Hollow Respite
This place was just as advertised and so well appointed with every amenity we needed for our 2 night stay in October. If you’re looking for some real peace and quiet in the beauty of nature’s surroundings, this is a wonderful place to stay outside of the quaint “hustle and bustle” of downtown Blue Ridge. The 20 minute drive down Aska Rd is gorgeous and winding along the Toccoa River and a lovely part of the experience of staying here. John and Mel are wonderful and welcoming hosts and the love and care they have put into their property is immediately evident. Highly recommend!

Cozy Carriage House
John and Wes are great hosts. They give you your privacy, but available to talk anytime. The carriage house was impeccably clean and very comfortable to stay in. The outdoor grounds are lovely with many nice sitting areas. We loved the dogs…it is their job to greet you, but they are extremely well-behaved. We would not hesitate to stay here if we are down this way again!

I cannot believe how lucky we were in booking this property. Mel and John are amazing hosts and the loft itself was perfect in every way. They thought of everything, from extra towels to a fully stocked kitchen to a lovely private deck overlooking the neighboring meadow. There is a fire pit, a BBQ grill, two beautiful Norwegian elkhounds, free ranging chickens...the loft was beautifully furnished...we hope to go back again and stay longer because this is a stunning retreat and the hosts are truly lovely people!

Wonderful experience!!
We had the best time staying here! Everything was set up so well for our stay and if there was anything we forgot or needed, it was there! John and Mel are so kind and helpful and made sure that we had everything we needed. The location is great, it is tucked away from everything but very concenient to the family-friendly swinging bridge and waterfall hikes, as well as the iron bridge cafe and toccoa riverside restaurant, which both have amazing food. And only about 20 min to Blue Ridge if you want to go into town! We absolutely loved the coziness of the cabin and the peaceful atmosphere of the property. We loved coming back to it every night and watching the sun set. We slept so well and it was the perfect place for some quality sister time! Our stay really could not have been better! Highly recommend staying here!

Loved the place. Very clean, cozy with needed supplies. Mel, the owner, had arranged some of the beautiful flowers from his garden for our loft. So friendly, Just one single call away. We had an amazing stay at John’s place. It was the perfect get away and a really relaxing way to spend a few days. One of the great things about the location is all the stars you can see from the patio! The hosts were incredibly helpful and nice!

This little loft is perfect. You can see that Mel and John put a lot of love into it. Both of them were sweet and I felt so comfortable being there. They have berthing you need and ready for anything else you might need. Bo and Ragnar the elkhounds excellent hosts as well! They kept me company whenever I sat outside. Sweet as can be. You won't regret staying with John and Mel. If you are lucky, you might get a yummy treat from Mel's kitchen. Can't wait to go back!

Quiet Retreat
This was our second stay this year. First time was in March and we really enjoyed the location and the property then and were even more impressed at the splender of the foliage and nature this time. Hummingbirds, deer and even fireflies were abundant thanks to the beautiful gardens planted by Mel. Highly recommend this lodging to anyone looking to relax and get away. Also having Mel and John available for any questions is a great benefit.

Mel was a great host! He helped us with places to eat etc. very knowledgeable about the area. The loft is beautiful and you can see the mountains siting on the porch. You might even see a deer or two. Mel even stocked us some drinks and snacks in the loft. Cant go wrong with this one.

Perfect in every way
We couldn't have asked for a better place to spend a relaxing weekend in the mountains. The loft was perfect in every way! We loved hanging out by the campfire and watching shooting stars and satellites fly overhead. John & Mel were awesome hosts and we plan on indulging in their cooking next time we stay in the loft. John and Mel's loft is a perfect little getaway tucked into a small valley minutes from the Benton Mackaye Trail. Their property is gorgeous with gardens, hens, a fire pit and more. John and Mel were super helpful during out stay. I hope we can come back and stay longer!

Nice place to stay for the night!
Property was really pretty and clean! They wanted to make sure we had everything we needed to he gave us a quick tour and let us know everything that was available for us including the fire pits on site. Very friendly and hospitable, would absolutely recommend other staying here!

Spectacular retreat!
Highly recommend this lodging to anyone who is looking for a quiet and pleasant place to go to get away and relax. The location is perfectly situated for a mountain getaway that is close enough to many attractions and natural scenic places to visit. The drive into the property is spectacular. It was great having Mel available to answer any questions about the area and recommending places to go. The beautiful rustic loft has pine throughout and was perfect, clean and very well kept. Views of the pasture are wonderful. Deer and wildlife are abundant. A perfect place to getaway and enjoy the mountains and nature.

We had a great stay. The lodging was updated and very clean. Mel and John went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and safe. A perfect way to relax on a 2 acre property. Outdoor fire pit and fire place make a great way to unwind with a cocktail or a cup of coffee. Big bathroom! Awesome stay... We'll be back!
