Cheap ploys to con tourists. Breakfast is $8 if you purchase at checkin only ( read fine print). Show up at breakfast and pay $20 . Happy hour is 4-7 pm - only sodas and 1 cocktail is half price.
Lovely ocean view suite which was nice, quiet and peaceful to watch the days go by while working. Although early check-in wasn't available, there is luggage storage and access to the common lounge/restaurant area which was a beautifully decorated space to enjoy with the water swing, floaties and access to swim right from the deck. The front desk team were extremely friendly and helpful with checking in on stay and providing local information with tours. I loved that there was filtered water available to guests to reduce plastic bottles. Although one night the water cut-off but this is common on the island as they depend on rain so use mindfully. The included breakfast was also nice with international vegetarian options. Would not hesitate to stay here again, although it is a bit on the higher end if wanting the overwater rooms.

Awesome place on the waters to spend great family time. Fantastic drinks and food, awesome company of fellow travelers. Francisca and Svea were great! Arulo was a great host and made our stay super fun!
We had a fantastic stay at Bambudas. The entire staff were amazing. The facility itself is wonderful. You feel the boutique hotel vibe mix with a friendly young backpackers atmosphere. The food and drinks at the cafe are great. People are always asking how everything is and take great pride in working there. Only two things I could think of to make the stay better. One, definitely ass a safe to the rooms this way people can lock away passports and other valuables. Secondly I would get a proper ladder installed to get in and out of the water. Someone is bound to get hurt on the broken ladder they have there currently I know I almost did. Other than those two things this place is awesome!
A beautiful hotel and everything in Bocas town within walking distance.
No refrigerator or coffee maker in rooms and the restaurant area doesn’t open until 7 to 7:30 so you can’t get anything to drink or coffee until then.
This place has a good thing going but the check-in was lacking. I was exhausted and patiently waited for 3pm to come so i could get some rest. It took 28 minutes, after asking ywice about the room tone taken to the room.
The room was adequate. Not much to it. It was plain and small.
The restaurant and public area was nice and right over the water. Food and drinks were good and very reasonably priced. The view over the ocean was very nice. However for the nightly rate I would not go there again.

We had a two nights stay at Bambuda during our visit to Colon Island. The premium queen room that we booked felt small, and apparently none of the rooms at Bambuda have hot water for shower. So we had no other choice but cold shower, which was unpleasant since the water is quite cold in November. We feel the owner should at least mentioned in their listing description that hot water is not available so guests know up front when booking. Adding to that, my husband had a near miss incident when the shower head came crashing to the floor narrowly missing his head (would have been a decent bruise otherwise). When reported, the staff didn’t seem to care at all and did not fix the shower head issue until the following day. So no shower for one night. Not to mention shampoo and conditioner were not provided. It seems like they don’t want us to take showers at all. Also, the towels have stained spots, and the hotel did not have any extra for replacement when we requested. Unfortunately We can’t recommend this place due to the bad experience during our stay.
Bambuda is exceptional! From the moment you enter the property, the décor amazes you. From the fantastic wall art to all the wooden fixtures and furniture, everything is designed to impress. Check-In was a breeze and though there was no hot water in the newer section of the building, I didn't miss it because the water was room temperature. The private rooms are beautifully appointed with breathtaking views of the ocean. I loved that the hand and body wash in the bathroom are eco-friendly. In fact, the lodge is very eco-conscious. The bar/restaurant serves delectable food at reasonable prices. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with my stay and would book again in a heartbeat on my next trip back to Bocas del Toro!
