Large Custom Guest House On Hill Top Estate In Bonsall

The guest house is ideal for a relaxed retreat from everyday life. Located only 15 minutes from major cities, this 15 acre estate offers a level of peace and serenity that is hard to find while still being close enough to everything to enjoy live entertainment, exquisite meals, challenging golf course, ocean beaches, world class family resorts, major casinos, and award winning wines.

Situated slightly lower on the property than the main house, it offers a private and undisturbed sanctuary for your time away from home. The large bedroom is located at the edge of the hill and presents views of the valleys heading both north to Temecula and west to the ocean. This room is loaded with windows and receives cool evening breezes with the windows open. A full sized stacked washer and dryer is located in the bedroom for your convenience, and there is plenty of storage in the full size dresser and closet.

The other main room of the house contains both the kitchen and the living room, but this space is so large that you will never feel crowded. The kitchen boasts full size appliances (gas range and oven), large refrigerator with ice maker, and miles of counter space (including a butcher block island). There is a comfortable table suitable for four adults to enjoy home cooked meals in the kitchen space, and another 4 person table outside on the patio to enjoy the evening breeze and sunsets while eating on the private patio.

The living room has a love seat and a sleeper sofa (queen), and the smart TV is wirelessly connected to the internet to stream HD content (Netflix and Vudu), access DirecTV, or use the Blu-ray player for your favorite movies. We have a library of movies that can be loaned on request.

There are views from every window/door that are incredible as the property is located on top of the hill at the end of a private road. The driveway is gated and the property is fenced around the immediate house, but there is an additional 4 acres adjacent to the guest house path that is fenced and occupied by our three goats, Donkey, and Llama. The remaining 10 acres is not fenced, but is available for your exploration, and includes a (neglected) lime grove. Most of the land is rugged and covered with original chaparral growth, boulders, and wildlife, but does offer the most impressive views in all of Bonsall and has a maintained dirt road for ease of access.

Great views but very poorly maintained unit
If all you want is a spectacular view, you will be happy. But the cluttered, rummage sale interior will not impress most short term visitors. The huge old overstuffed furniture was way to large for such a small casita. The refrigerator was dirty and half full of open food containers from a previous occupant. The linen appeared to be clean but nothing else was and we spent the first day sweeping, wiping down floors and dirty counters. We threw out very old food in the pantry including moldy flour, rancid spices etc. There was deferred maintenance in numerous areas including a leak under the kitchen sink, cracked toilet bowl and dried out wood work, Frankly, we should have left after the first night but for the fact that we prepaid and did not want to get into a problem with the owners. This unit was far from prepared for a vacation rental and is very inconvenient to services and attractions, of that we were pretty much aware but we were unprepared for the condition of the unit and were happy to leave two days early than our lease period.

I was very disappointed with this place. It was very dirty: all apliances including the refrigerator which was very dirty, had lots of leftovers and the freezer leaked into the refrigerator. The dish soap was even watered down! I asked the owners for my cleaning deposit back. They said no. I was forced to either pay $59 for liability ins or a $1500 refundable deposit. This is what I wrote to the owners and offered to show pictures: NOT AS PICTURED! Microwave dirty and doesn't turn Refrigerator dirty and leaks Stove dirty Washer filthy Watered down dishsoap Messy drawers Decor cheesy On a scale of 1 to 10? 2.5 ,-( They watered down the dish soap! Thd bathroom suppof shamp, etc were patgetic-1/41/2 inch in a mess of bottles dumped in a basket Not cozy Messy patio Bad lighting Faucet doesn't turn or pull put Noisy dogs I feel that they were trying to get the most money for the least amount of effort on their part. I left one day early snd i would never recommend this place anyone.

My wife and I very much enjoyed our stay at this property it was the type of place we needed for a long stay and was pretty much centrally located to everything we wanted to do and see. My only criticism would be on the cleanliness of the guest house, it was definitely not up to our standards. However bear in mind that my wife and I are very particular when it comes to cleanliness. Our overall impression was that it is a great place with wonderful owners, but would benefit from a deep clean and a fresh coat of paint on the interior, it would look like a million bucks! We would and may stay at this property again. We stayed at the property for 6 consecutive weeks.

This is the second time we stayed here and will absolutely be back again. The property is beautiful and exactly as pictured- rural but less than 10 minutes to the I-15 freeway, so convenient to everything. The hosts are super nice people and easy to work with. The cozy guesthouse is comfortable and quite private from the adjacent main house. Our small dog enjoyed looking at the llama, donkey, and three goats who were on their side of the fence. And the view to the west and the north is spectacular! A great getaway!

This place is a fine! Even though there are others on the property, it was like we were totally isolated and private. I my wife joke that we needed to put an offer in on the unit we stayed in because it was so perfect and comfortable I’m not very good at reviews, but all I can do is give us the highest recommendation and thank you J and Hallinan for a great place to stay. We will be back sometime in the future.

Gorgeous Views and away from Hustle and Bustle!
The property is set in an awesome location on a small mountain where you can see the ocean (long distance), the surrounding mountain and Gorgeous sunsets over distant mountains. It is close to freeway access where you can go to San Diego, Oceanside and Carlsbad within a 30 minutes if you want. Or just stay and enjoy the hummingbirds, goats, donkey, and lama and the peacefulness of the setting! We loved it and hope to go back again!

Beautiful guest house (casita) in beautiful area. Hosts were friendly and available but allowed complete privacy. Location is a bit remote but I was aware of that when I booked. Added bonus was being greeted by a llama, goats, or Miniture donkey every time we parked!

Amazing view, but there are problems.
The view is incredible, and at first glance the unit is charming. The bed is super comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was great. The owners/managers are kind, answer immediately and seem to genuinely want to please. But there are problems. There were dirty dishes in the cupboard and a cleaning rag left drying on the bathroom plunger. Toaster crumbs all over the cupboard. We really began to wonder what is actually clean in this unit. The owners are appropriately apologetic and responsive, but who is overseeing the maintenance and cleaning? And it is bad business to have visitors in your unit at the same time there is major construction on the property. We should have been notified of that before arrival and offered an option to cancel the booking. Add to that minor maintenance on the actual unit during our visit which required we either stay to hear every bang of the hammer and screech of the motors or abandon the area and leave the unit unsecured with our property inside for the day. So the view was amazing, but the stay was less than the tranquil visual would imply.

On top of the world
