We absolutely adored it here. Just a five minute drive from the Puffins and the spa downstairs was a lovely way to end our day after a wonderful meal in the restaurant. Beautiful views and comfortable rooms made for a well rested stay. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. We were already so happy with our stay and then the breakfast spread! So many options and everything was delicious.

LOVED THIS PLACE!!!!! The rooms, food, staff view everything was incredible. I wish we stayed longer than two nights. The spa is awesome and my best afternoon was hanging out there in the hot tubs having a glass of wine. I would drive here again just to stay here (and see the puffins which are a few km up the road) our favorite stay in Iceland

Great location
Let’s start with the good things: We had whale watching from our room overlooking the fijord in that was fantastic in mid-July that was better than whale watching trips we have taken. The Puffins colony is located only a 10 minute drive down the road and are amazing so this is a great location. The Wi-Fi was great. This is obviously the best place to stay in this small remote town in northeast Iceland. They do have some spa services. The cons: It should be noted that the name on Hotels.com is Blabjorg Resort and this is the name they are moving to. However, the signs on the buildings say Blabjorb Guesthouse, and to find it on navigation apps you must put in Blabjorb Guesthouse as the “Resort” is not found or it may lead to someplace down an “F” road (dirt road in Iceland restricted to off road vehicles). The locking mechanism on the door are not intuitive and there are no instructions on how to use them. The management says this is the typical Icelandic lock but in the past week here in Iceland we have not seen this before. We were told we needed to make a reservation for dinner but after the front desk made the reservation, the restaurant could not find the reservation. The region does have a lot of flies/midges and they can get into the rooms if one is not careful about open doors or windows. In short this is a great location with views but there can be better signage/communication that would greatly improve the stay.

We stayed in one of the deluxe rooms. Our room was fantastic! It had a balcony overlooking the ocean and the room itself and the bathroom were both very large. My only complaint was that there was a charge to use the pools and hot tub. I didn’t read anywhere that there was a charge. I think it was listed as a “spa” so I guess I’m supposed to know that means there is a charge. Since the pools were listed so prominently in all of the photos I assumed it was included. The breakfast buffet was good and they had a lot of homemade items (breads and jams)that we didn’t see at some of our other hotels. Other than the pool issue our room was fantastic and it was reasonably priced for Iceland. I would have no problem returning and staying in a deluxe room.

After a very long drive and sometimes perilous conditions, we arrived at the property. Doesn't look like too much at first but the staff were very helpful and informative and when we got to the room...Wow! Wonderful and spacious, fabulous view (which we saw the next morning in the sun). The restaurant offered a variety of choices, tasty food and excellent breakfast the next morning :) . The only I wish this (and other properties) would do, is offer the facilities without such a high additional cost.

The site is misleading saying that there is a spa here. There is, but it costs 4,500 ISK per person and is only open from 1pm-9pm. Our room had no windows and was very small and stuffy.

Our stay at Blabjorg Resort was great. The two bedroom apartment is comfortable and spacious. One bedroom and bathroom upstairs one bedroom downstarirs. The bedroom in the upper floor is very bright. Keep that in mind if you go in summer. The restaurant food was delicious we had dinner and breakfast there. The breakfast is included. We also used the Spa that was heavenly. From there there is just a 10 minute drive to go and see Puffins upclose. The whole area is beautiful and peaceful. We will deffinetly comeback!

El lugar es hermoso, las instalaciones están increíbles, el spa está de revista. Los cuartos amplios, buen blackout (difícil de encontrar en otros lugares). Nos atrapó una tormenta y no pudimos salir cuando lo teníamos planeado, el personal del hotel fue de gran ayuda, muy serviciales y dispuestos a ayudarnos y a resolver nuestras dudas. Excelente hotel, no hay mejor.

We had a large apartment for 5 of us. Three bedrooms, super spacious! Two bathrooms, both with showers which was perfect for this many of us, as well as laundry machines and a dishwasher. The suite was open concept on the main floor, felt very luxurious. Everything was sparkling clean, and bright. Our stay included breakfast which was excellent quality, a lot of homemade loafs, croissant type twists, scrambled egg, home made jams too, they even made their own peanut butter! The kitchen staff are very professional. Amazing location with nearby hikes with jaw dropping scenery, plus puffins to see very close up at the end of the road. We only booked two nights as we didn’t realize there’d be so much to see in such a remote location. We would definitely book several days next time! The spa is an extra cost so we didn’t use it but the several small pools looked nice.

This place is really cool and has a great view. It was icy and snowy weather and it's about an hour from Ring Road so very much out of the way. The puffins are only there in the summer and the town is tiny so not much to do or see in winter. But the small brewery is nice and the rooms are great. Staff is super friendly. Not sure we'd stay here if we had it to do again, but enjoyed it.

Staff Went Out of Their Way to Help
We had a flat tire en route to the Blabjorg, so unfortunately, dealing with that consumed most of our time there. The hotel staff & manager were all incredibly helpful negotiating with our car company and a local mechanic to get the (unrepairable) tire replaced. Thank you! The hotel room itself was quite comfortable, and we had a pleasant breakfast at the hotel restaurant.
