I came in early winter. Very much the low season. In winter the place feels truly remote, a refuge from the world, which is what I came for. There are a couple easy thing they can do for low-season guests below.
The building interior was nice and warm. It was a very nice refuge from the cold, The room was so warm that even with the thermostat all the way down I was overheating until I cracked a window. Yes, in an Icelandic winter. The hot bath is the highlight of the property and my main reason to go there.
I didn't quite understand that breakfast had to be pre-ordered. This makes sense, especially in the low season, but I don't remember if this was in the welcome message. Can there be an option when signing up to pre-order for the first morning? Or... we might order ahead for some groceries to be left in the kitchen: muesli or some such. Hostel stuff.
Also for winter: I really recommend better lighting by the geothermal pool... maybe just low-power path lighting to make it easier to find your way from the pool to the showers or sauna after sunset. Twice I wanted to use the sauna but didn't because I couldn't see the way to get to it.
