Arcadian Boston, 5 Stars!
5 Stars! The Arcadian in Boston/Brookline is a newly remodeled and well managed hotel. The staff are welcoming and the breakfast buffet is a real continental style with high quality pastries, yogurts, hardboiled eggs and coffee. The lobby is awesome and has both couches and dinning table options. I chose the room option with 4 bunk beds but we enjoyed, even the kids. Being over 60 it was a little unnerving doing most everything on line before our arrival. However, check-in went smoothly, the staff was knowledgeable, friendly and overall, our entire stay was wonderful. Of note, the Boston T Green C Line Trolly track was right in front of the hotel and made for great exploring of the city. We even took it to the Airport.

So disappointing, room was not as nice as advertised, sheets on bed were all torn, finishes were awful, lacked lighting in the rooms and had to use phone flashlight to see, paint peeling everywhere, poorly patched holes everywhere, bathroom door jammed constantly as doesn’t sit flush. Front desk staff were very rude and condescending for no reason at all. Politely asked for a luggage bag tag to tag some laundry for collection.. lady rudely told me they didn’t have them while another staff member giggled at how rude she was to me and stood by and watched. My mother walked down 5 minutes later and another staff member gave her one without an issue as they were sitting right there on the desk. Woman was obviously just bored and had nothing better to do with her day than to stir some unnecessary drama. Clearly doesn’t like her job and want to be there. Will avoid these properties in future.

Cleaning your room is by ballot system. You ask for it a day before and if you are lucky you get selected, if not your room isn’t cleaned whilst there.

Staff was kind. Hotel seemed modern which I love. Didn’t notice any amenities. Had issues with tv connection during my stay, but staff helped when they could. Room seemed pretty sound proof which is good. Bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was free but there were limited options.

I have stayed here on 2 other times and this visit was the worst. The room needed small repairs; the room had a partially clogged drain and the door had no hook for towels and the thermostat was wonky. Even the elevator broke down (they did fix it fairly quickly). They don’t have any alternative for milk products during the breakfast.

The beds were very comfortable. The rooms clean and the hotel was quiet. Only one night but it was very comfortable. The front desk staff were very pleasant and accomodating. Access to the rail was great for getting around

Rude person at check in. Key card did not work, turned out the person at the front desk gave me the wrong room number and I had to return to the front desk to fix. The girl at the front desk was very condescending then apologized when she realized, she gave me wrong room number. Expensive parking through a third party vendor $45 8-12 hour rate. No in and out parking. Pay each time you park. Elevator was not working. Had to use the emergency stairs hauling our heavy luggage. The staircase reeked of sewage. Just one towel and a bath mat in the bathroom. The reservation was for 4 people as the. I was told extra towels would be delivered within 12 hours. We ended up getting towels on our own.
