I can’t say enough about how well equipped, comfortable, the baskets of goodies, wine, cider left as a welcome, and just lovely and accommodating Cheryl is as a host. The house was as advertised and better. The kitchen was so much fun to prepare meals and everyone was part of it. It was the most stocked kitchen I’ve ever experienced at a rental home. We stayed a whole week and I have gone back to that view and zen feeling many times since returning to Chicagoland. This was the first time seeing our youngest daughter in 2 years due to Covid and it was glorious. We felt very safe there and we had 2-5 people on any of 7 nights. We are a very careful family. We had a pool tourney one night, used the sauna, checked out some games, watched movies(on our streaming account.)We went crabbing, to a few tiny farmers markets, drove to a few sites, found 2 lovely galleries w/artists work in Yachats. But truly, you could hang out on the deck, watch the sunsets, walk to beach(it is 1/4 mile to water). It’s challenging for some to navigate back and forth on the dunes but the beach is so nice to walk, run, play on. And one night I saw the most incredible night sky ever. The Milky Way was readily visible along with many constellations. My husband saw a few shooting stars too.
All this being said, renters should understand this great house is on the beach. The wind is strong at times. Even being careful, sand enters house sometimes. I also think renting at the end of summer showed some, but it wasn’t a game changer. We are considering a couple, 3 weeks in future there.
Oh, I almost forgot...the bedrooms have these fluffy, warm robes which we loved. This getaway was just what we all needed. The Oregon coast may be my favorite beach experience.
