Wake up to the tranquil sound of lapping waves when you escape to this idyllic Samish Island beach house! Situated on Samish Bay, this waterfront property offers 180 degrees of breathtaking and unobstructed bay views, with the islands and Mt. Baker in the background. Perhaps even more mesmerizing than the scenery are the gorgeous sunsets - the San Juan Islands beautifully frame the sun as it disappears into the water. Spend your days outdoors boating, swimming, crabbing, or kayaking, all right outside your front door! When the tide goes out, look forward to watching Great Blue Herons hunting in the tide flats. And inside, prepare meals in the well-equipped, full kitchen or grill up your favorites on the gas barbecue.

If you're in the mood for seafood, you've come to the right place! Samish Bay is a great natural producer of shellfish. After an eventful day outdoors, drive five miles to the quaint and trendy town of Edison to enjoy dinner at one of the local restaurants. You'll also be conveniently close to local berry fields, as well as the Chuckanut Scenic Highway, an iconic route that offers stunning coastal views. Explore the area further by venturing 16 miles to La Conner, where you'll find great restaurants, charming shops, and exciting events, such as the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival.

Good views
We enjoyed our stay with only a couple of issues. The house was very clean and well-stocked. Although the neighbors were very close, it was quiet. The in-wall heaters in some of the rooms were old and loud. We also were confused about where to take the garbage on check-out. A big deal was made about it, but no way we could find the cans...so we left it in the kitchen, hoping there would not be a problem.

Great cabin right on the beach
I stayed here with my partner and a couple of other friends for a weekend. It was quiet and peaceful, just what we needed! It's a little bit out of the way, and I had some difficulty reaching the host to retrieve a pair of shoes I left behind, but it all worked out in the end. Overall it was a great getaway.

Being right on the beach was such a treat. The neighbors were very helpful, welcoming and kind. The downstairs shower was stopped up so we got some Drano and a plunger and were able to unclog it.

Terrific Property! Fantastic and Convenient
We really enjoyed our short stay at this property. We made fires on the beach, roasted marshmallows and even did a little swimming. Not a long drive to get away for some solitude and fresh sea air, while still enjoying the amenities of modern life. Definitely recommend this place for parties of 2-6.

Smaller than you think.
The house is fine. For some reason the photos make it look more spacious than it is. The kitchen and living/dining areas are pretty cramped. We were 8, 6 adults and 2 kids and it was pretty tight. Location is obviously beautiful though. The trundle bed at the top of the stairs is dangerous for kids. They could easily fall about 10ft onto the stair since the top of the bed is pretty much at the same level as the guardrail. Internet was spotty at best and the tub was totally clogged. And don't count on using the outdoor fire pit as there is a burn ban in effect. I would say it's overpriced and this should not be advertised as an 8 person accommodation.

Sweet trip to the beach
The location is wonderful and if you like to swim, the water is warm owing to the shallow beach! Nearby Edison has wonderful food choices, don't miss it. I loved looking at the family photos on the wall and could envision the many happy years of family trips to this cottage. There is one barely functional bike and another rusty relic with flat tires so make sure to bring your own bikes to this great biking area. Although directions tell you to take out the trash, we couldn't find the garbage can either. It would also be helpful be clear about the firewood as we found conflicting information as to whether to take from the centrally located woodpile.

Beautiful setting on beach, friendly neighbors, many herons and eagles to watch, great fire pit
We would go again! A few small things we noticed that could be improved upon… Please have more paper towels available, foil and saran wrap would also be helpful. We brought some of own firewood but the neighbor shared with us. Provide some for renters? Could not find garage can at end of stay. Otherwise- all fabulous!

Ok property. All dressers and closets were full of things we didn't use so there was no room for our things. Washing machine was full of mold and needs to be cleaned.

Lovely Location
Lovely location right on the water with gorgeous views! Very comfortable home and very clean. The kitchen is very well stocked with just about any tool you'd need for cooking. There are even metal pronged "sticks" for roasting marshmallows over a fire in the firepit! We loved walking out to the water to swim (bring water shoes, the shells are sharp). Views are amazing and it's fun to sit outside with coffee in the morning taking them in. Gorgeous sunsets as well! Lots of books available in the house to take out and read on the beach. A few games kept in a cabinet in the living room. Our kids loved having a fire right on the beach and making s'mores. We also found Edison charming and highly recommend the Breadfarm bakery for yummy baked goods and Terramar Brewstillery for delicious and unique pizzas as well as friendly staff. The house is older, but reasonably maintained. There are a few repairs that could make it pristine such as making sure the access points to the attic crawlspace are flush and not hanging away from the wall letting musty smells and drafts in. The only coffeemaker is a keurig with a broken personal k-cup adapter (hole in bottom) so if you want coffee bring actual k-cups or your french press. There is no drip coffee maker, which was disappointing as one is pictured in the virtual tour. Additionally, the bikes provided are in poor condition. One was not in good enough condition to even ride. There are no helmets (which are required under WA law to wear while riding). The island is perfect for biking, but bring your own bike and helmet. The listing said beach towels and beach chairs were included, but there were none at the home. There were plenty of bath towels, so we used those. And Blau Oyster was never open while we were there (some have said they have closed and sell their products elsewhere). The sprinkler system is poorly aligned and will soak all the deck furniture overnight as well as anything you leave out there, so be careful in that regard. Over all we loved this location and found that the pros outweighed the few inconveniences.
