The carpet was so dirty that you could see the fresh stain that wasn’t cleaned by house keeping. We had to wear our shoes or you could feel the nasty on your feet from the carpet. My grandson wasn’t able to play on the floor with his trucks and instead had to stay on the bed. It was late and we were tired and this was the only place with a room so we had to stay.

Hotel was in a poor state of repair compared to other Holiday Inn Expresses. Uneven floor and aged bathrooms. Beds were fine and room was clean. Disappointed in the $25 dollar incidental fee for a makeup stained washcloth. Breakfast was good and pool was cold but ok.

The hotel staff and cleaning crew were lovely. The room was clean and exactly as advertised. My kids loved the breakfast buffet. My only complaint is that it lacked vegan options.

Filthy, unkept rooms so disgusting that when I placed my foot on a toilet lid to put a Band-Aid on a cut, I left a muddy footprint on it. We stayed there more than one day, room service did not enter a room tidy up or give new towels, NOTHING. No coffee machine refills, no cups. WORST shower i have ever used. ZERO water pressure and cheap, broken shower head. Water only came out one temperature, scalding hot. Mold in corners of tub. Courtney, the front desk attendant was amazing doing what she could but must have a pathetic support staff. Called to the hotels attention.

This hotel is one of the only options for mammoth caves area, that's the only reason it's busy. It's pretty dirty and dingy. Very tiny area for breakfast. All of the towels need to be replaced, they are thin and tiny and just in general bleh. Everything just looks dirty. The grass and the landscaping outside were also either wildly overgrown or dead. They command a premium for the location but I absolutely would never stay there again.

I did not like that fact the my room was never cleaned after my first nights stay. I didn’t have any fresh towels, and linens were not changed either. After calling down to the front desk I was told I had to go get them myself from the front. I wouldn’t stay there again

It was right off the freeway so that is convenient however the room especially the bathroom floor was sticky and in need of a great clean. Most Holiday inn express locations are nice but I would probably try another. The bed wasn't great and we left so early I couldn't comment on the breakfast.

We were assigned a room facing I-65; we heard the trucks all 3 days. The public computer was not working; we could not print out our Delta boarding passes ahead of time. The front desk had no cash; makes it hard to leave a tip for the cleaning staff. The carpet in 332 is in desperate need of cleaning.

Clerk lied at check in
We arrived 40 minutes to regular check in time. The clerk at the desk said we could not early check in unless we were members. We are. She gave us a room overlooking/next to the highway. I asked to be changed to the front because of the noise from the highway. I was told that there were no rooms available on the front of the property like the one I booked. I asked 3 separate times if there was anyway we could have our room changed. The answer was NO. I decided to look at the room before we unloaded our belongings. It smelled like mold, beds weren’t made correctly and there was trash on the counter in the bathroom. I asked my husband to look at it as well. He came back and said to me we are going to leave this hotel, this is unacceptable. My husband then proceeded to go back to the same clerk at the front desk only this time a manager was with her. He mentioned that the room was unacceptable, not clean, smelled, the window was broken and it was too noisy. The manager said “Of course, yes it’s noisy back there”. And you guessed it… there was a room available. The clerk had LIED. Not once but 3 separate times but was able to find a room when the manager was present. She kept saying she “must have misunderstood me.” The fact of the matter is this clerk lied. The new room we were given was clean and quiet. It was like a different hotel. The 1st room was disgusting and our experience with the initial check in was terrible. The manager was great and we appreciated his help.

Family Mammoth Cave trip
Staff was friendly. Pool was absolutely freezing and there was not any pool towels. Picture on internet showed a hot tub that ended up being filled in with cement to our surprise. Crickets in room. Hallways were filthy. Pancake and apple juice machines were out of order both days we were there. Overall just rundown and not worth the money.

I choose holiday inn even though it was quite a bit more than some of the other hotels. The room was ok. The hotel overall was a bit worn, but there were tons of families. So i can understand how the walls get beaten up fast. Breakfast was a zoo, the women had a hard time keeping the food filled and not enough seating. But again near Mammoth Cave so tons of kids. Decent value, not sure what the lower cost hotels would be like so hard to judge. Bedding was comfortable.
