Lodging in the Hospedaria is an exceptional experience, but not for folks who prefer to be in a lively, urban setting. The Convent de Tibaes is located several miles from downtown Braga, and is not really easy to find, even with a GPS. The restaurant was closed the night we stayed, but we were able to have a good meal at a nearby traditional churascaria.
The church, convent, grounds and gardens require several hours at least in order to appreciate them, but note that the convent is closed on Mondays (as are museums).
The included breakfast was lovely, served in buffet (self-service) style, and the room was as delightful as the rest of the Hospedaria.
The comfort, serenity, historical character, and architectural grace create memories that will long linger.
