How can you not love a place where you are greeted by free-range chickens coming up to your car when you pull in and park? And the goats in their pens call out a hello as well? The host left a half-dozen of those delicious farm-fresh eggs for us, plus homemade ice cream sandwiches in the freezer. The only reason to mark this property down one notch for location is that it was out of cell range for our phones that were on AT&T and Verizon (so be forewarned if that's important to you - just unplug for a bit and relax!) but there is wifi in the unit. And it's on the second floor, up outdoor stairs, so again, if that's an issue (it wasn't for us) the traveler should consider this. The setting is lovely, the hosts are friendly, the animals entertaining, the beds are comfy, the kitchen has what you need to do some cooking, the view is outstanding. And it's a short drive into the village of Island Pond.
