Our 3 night stay was ok but unfortunately didn't match the price paid for the rooms or for a 5 star hotel. We came for a short break and to relax but was looking forward to leaving. Positives: Nice view from a River View room with sunlight in the afternoon Gym was big and uncrowded Foyer is nice Staff are lovely Not so great things Housekeeping at 3.30/4pm everyday is so inconvenient and not a 5 star experience. We would come back to an unmade room each day after walking the city all day then have to leave when the cleaner came around The cleaner did not vaccum or wipe anything down. The same fluff on the floor was there for days in addition to the ironing board left out in front of the tv. The bedding linen feels cheap and worn and the polyester pillows have an uncomfortable feeling compared to say The Sofitel. The bedding doesn't feel luxe or enticing to lay on. The staff member that entered into our room unannounced on the first day (when my husband was in the bathroom) asking for another guest made us feel like anyone could barge in the door. The loud all-night roadworks downstairs were not known to us before booking creating a disturbed sleep (yes you can hear it all night, not sure when it will stop). The River View rooms can also hear highway traffic. Overall it just wasn't a relaxing stay and after 3 nights of interrupted sleep on cheap bedding, we couldn't wait to check out and move on. Next time we will head to the Westin and the new Star hotel when it opens

The W is contemporary, which has held up after being open for a number of years now, but the property is in desperate need of maintenance. The paint is chipping everywhere you look, the contact adhesive decorative film that's on the bathroom doors is peeling away and same goes for the scarab beetle motifs in the lifts and beyond. The in-room technology is also extremely dated. Definitely not what you expect from a premium hotel that is $700 a night. Your money is better spent elsewhere.
